For 14 years, he worked on diverse electrical projects throughout the Philippines and Southeast Asia. After moving to the U.S., he continued his work as an electrician for a decade. In addition to residential projects, he has also been involved in various commercial and industrial jobs. Among his extensive project list in Hawaii are Kapiolani Hospital's new building, Regal Cinema in Kapolei, Ala Moana PV, Waipahu Rail Station, H-Power 3rd Boiler, and Meheula Vista Senior Living Ph 3.

At the age of 19, I participated in a computer class at Alu Like, and my teacher, Papa Mika, saw that traditional office work wasn't for me. He introduced me to a non-traditional jobs program for women at the Richards Street YWCA.

The N.E.W. (Non-Traditional Employment for Women) program at the YWCA brought in women to share insights on various non-traditional fields, including carpentry, ironwork, and culinary arts. Among the instructors was Carlita Martinez, an electrician, who provided materials for practical experience. She arrived with plywood, a bundle of pipes, junction boxes, and electrical components. Carlita showed us how a light switch functions by allowing us to bend pipes, connect wires, and build an electrical box ourselves. I realized immediately that this was my calling. This experience was a profound transformation, a shift in my understanding, realizing, ""This is what I want to do."".
