After graduating high school, Jerry L Martin, the president and license holder, decided to pursue a career in the electrical field, inspired by his uncles. After five years of experience, he achieved his journeyman electrician license and earned his master electrician's license in 1986. At that point, he made the decision to start his own business.

Jerry L Martin, the president and license holder, originally hails from Highland, Indiana. After his father retired in 1970, the family relocated to Lee County, Florida. He went to Ft Myers Middle School and graduated from Ft Myers High School in 1977. Over the years, Jerry has actively supported youth athletics in Lee County. Jerry has been a youth soccer coach in the Cape Coral Soccer Association and has also coached youth basketball through the Youth Basketball Association of Lee County (YBA). Additionally, he supports Bishop Verot High School and its athletic programs.

Debbie Martin, our secretary/treasurer, is a transplant from Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Debbie's family moved to Lee County, Florida, in 1972 as a result of a job transfer. Debbie is a 1979 graduate of Ft Myers High School and has a BS degree in Finance from the University of South Florida.

Jerry and Debbie met in 1980 and tied the knot in 1982. They welcomed their only child, Nick, in 1984. In 2003, Nick graduated from Bishop Verot High School and went on to graduate from the University of South Florida in 2008.

In 1990, I began selling lighting products and performing repairs under the fire equipment name, and the business flourished until I created a new entity, West Coast Lighting of SW FL, in January 2001. In 2015, we rebranded to West Coast Electrical & Lighting Services to better represent our current offerings. I am trained in using specialized tools to identify electrical issues and bring over 25 years of experience to the table.
