After five years of experience, he achieved his journeyman electrician license and earned his master electrician's license in 1986. The president and license holder, Jerry L Martin, is originally from Highland, Indiana. In 1970, following his father's retirement, the family moved to Lee County, Florida. He went to Ft Myers Middle School and graduated from Ft Myers High School in 1977. Jerry has dedicated time to supporting youth athletics in Lee County over the years. Jerry has been a youth soccer coach in the Cape Coral Soccer Association and has also coached youth basketball through the Youth Basketball Association of Lee County (YBA). Additionally, he supports Bishop Verot High School and its athletic programs.

Debbie Martin, the secretary/treasurer, is originally from Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Her family moved to Lee County, Florida in 1972 due to a job transfer. She graduated from Ft Myers High School in 1979 and earned a BS degree in Finance from the University of South Florida.

Jerry and Debbie crossed paths in 1980 and got married in 1982. In 1984, they had their only child, Nick. In 2003, Nick graduated from Bishop Verot High School and went on to graduate from the University of South Florida in 2008.

In 1990, I began offering lighting products and repairs under the fire equipment name, and the business continued to expand until I established a new company, West Coast Lighting of SW FL, in January 2001. In 2015, we rebranded to West Coast Electrical & Lighting Services to better represent our current offerings.
