Jerry L Martin, the president and license holder, originally hails from Highland, Indiana. In 1970, following his father's retirement, the family moved to Lee County, Florida. Jerry completed his education at Ft Myers Middle School and graduated from Ft Myers High School in 1977. Over the years, Jerry has actively supported youth athletics in Lee County. He has coached youth soccer with the Cape Coral Soccer Association and youth basketball through the Youth Basketball Association of Lee County (YBA). Debbie Martin, the secretary/treasurer, is originally from Elizabethtown, Kentucky. In 1972, her family relocated to Lee County, Florida, because of a job transfer. She graduated from Ft Myers High School in 1979 and earned a BS degree in Finance from the University of South Florida.

In 1980, Jerry and Debbie met and were married in 1982. In 1984, they had their only child, Nick. In 2003, Nick graduated from Bishop Verot High School and went on to graduate from the University of South Florida in 2008.

In 1990, I started providing lighting products and repair services under the fire equipment brand, and the business grew until I launched a new company, West Coast Lighting of SW FL, in January 2001. In 2015, we changed our name to West Coast Electrical & Lighting Services to better align with our current operations.
