Dave is a California Certified General Electrician, a California-licensed contractor, and a qualified installer of EV charging systems. He joined the team at Thern & Solar in 2000 and took on co-ownership in 2006. He has significant experience in every phase of electrical work for commercial, private, and wine-making establishments. He is highly focused to energy efficiency for both the business (qualifying Thern as a recognized Green Business in 2009) and our customers by overseeing the retrofit of high-efficiency lighting and energy conservation devices to achieve significant reductions in energy consumption. He executes energy assessments and creates detailed reports on usage. He has implemented many types of lighting management systems (LiteTouch systems, Vantage, Homeworks technology, Wattstopper systems, Lutron Radio RA systems, Radio RA2, Grafik Eye, and others). He was raised in San Francisco, relocating to Napa as a young man. He is a husband and father of two children. He also coaches his son's youth baseball team.

I launched Automation Electric with the intent of delving into automation projects for the industry. I designed and programmed systems for machines to automate certain processes and developed gadgets for industrial purposes. During this time, I worked on various electrical systems, designing lighting for both residential and commercial projects, as well as network wiring for data and voice, and wiring for sound systems and the latest flat-screen televisions.
I am now trained to specify, program, and install home automation systems including Lutron's Radio RA2 and Homeworks QS, motorized shades, and Vantage Systems. Our offerings include all NEST products, sound systems, and home theaters.
