After that, I attended Parks College of Aeronautical Technology in Illinois, where I earned my commercial pilot and multi-engine licenses. I met Anne during this time, and I opted to remain grounded to start a family.

We chose to elope and relocated to Burbank, California, where I started an apprenticeship with a licensed electrical contractor and took a job as a plant electrician for Pacific Aero.

Even though working at Pacific Aero was fun, I desired a closer connection to the community, prompting me to start Modern Electric in 1984.

Having all four of our children graduate from Burbank Schools has been an incredible blessing!
