Since 1976, Bill McNamara has been in the electrical contracting business. He began helping out in the family business in Atascadero, where his dad started a local electrical company. At the young age of 13, he wired his first residential project and shortly thereafter knew he wanted to start a company of his own. In 1986, he relocated to Napa Valley and started his contracting career at a motorsport venue for seven years called Sears Point, now known as Infineon Raceway. With the growth of Napa Valley's wine industry, McNamara Electric also grew. The need for electrical services rose as wineries began to be built. For approximately 15 years, Bill subcontracted a reputable electrical company when necessary. Currently, he focuses on on-demand service and smaller tasks.
He now lives on a ranch in Angwin, California. He sponsors a local Midget racer, Britton Bock. He treats his tasks—whether on the job or for fun—with seriousness and invests his passion into it. Bill always comes up with creative solutions—whether it concerns where to install a light fixture or the type of light bulbs to use.
