While studying at Parks College of Aeronautical Technology in Illinois, I met Anne, who later became my wife. We moved to Burbank, California, where I undertook an apprenticeship, passed the California Electrical Contractor Test, and earned my license. I founded Modern Electric in 1984 to serve local clients. Even though working at Pacific Aero was fun, I desired a closer connection to the community, prompting me to start Modern Electric in 1984.
