I have spent my career gaining knowledge and experience right here in San Luis Obispo as the owner. I began my path in this field by earning an associate's degree in Electrical Technology from Cuesta College. This program equipped me with essential electrical principles and vital business insights. Following college, I earned my journeyman's certification and worked across diverse electrical environments, from residential to commercial and industrial. With a solid educational foundation and a decade of experience in the electrical field, I am excited to introduce 5 Star Electric!

Bill earned his Electrical Engineering degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Edward received his degree in Industrial Technology from Cal Poly. In 1989, the sons purchased the business from Clarence and his wife. We added Electrical Engineering to our offerings in 1981, and it has grown steadily. Our workforce typically ranges from 60 to 70 employees, peaking at 150 during a five-story hospital project in Santa Maria for Marian Hospital in 2011. Thoma Electric features divisions dedicated to Electrical Engineering, Major Electrical Construction, Small Electrical Construction, and Electrical Services. “Every project matters, no matter the scale”. Thoma Electric can manage nearly any project from inception to completion, covering design and construction. I earned my BS in Industrial Technology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1983. I was employed at National Semiconductor from 1984 to 1986, serving as a Manufacturing Engineer in wafer fabrication.
