In 1978, I founded a business fueled by a passion for piping that grew into commercial irrigation for recreational areas, sporting venues, and local businesses throughout Southern California. Our experience in irrigation broadened into the energy sector, where we raised the bar through official licensing that eventually transitioned us to the electrical industry.

Though that was a long time ago, we realized over time that the public demand wasn't being handled satisfactorily. We have shifted our focus our skills toward clients like you, and our experience serves as the basis for Hayden's Services:

I launched my career in industrial electricity at the age of 20. Enjoying the trade and skills I acquired, I chose to expand into both commercial and residential as well. I earned my general contractor license and the C-10 electrical contractor license, and as I valued customer interaction, it was natural to start my own business.

We are a family-run electrical contractor based in La Verne, CA. We have proudly served our community with electrical solutions since 1982. Our expertise includes service work, remodels, can lighting, panel upgrades, additions, ceiling fans, home theater systems, flat panel TV mounting, commercial construction, machine connections, 3 phase power, 277/480 volt power, and much more.

Martin Scherer obtained his C-10 electrical license back in September of 1982. We have been serving the San Gabriel Valley ever since. Marty, Tina, and Jason Scherer manage the family-owned business.

Jason, our operations manager, manages the everyday activities of the company.

My interest in the electrical trade ignited during childhood when my father taught me the basics while we worked on an H.O. train set. This initial experience sparked my curiosity, leading me to pursue studies in basic electricity and electronics during high school and further my education in junior college. After joining the U.S. Air Force, I trained as a weapons mechanic, where I was responsible for maintaining the electrical systems of F-4 aircraft.

Upon returning home, I continued my career at Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Company, where I spent five years refining my skills. Eventually, I made the decision to start my own electrical contracting business. This was when I started to understand the complexities of the trade—knowledge that I still pursue every day. I believe the moment I stop learning is the moment I either retire or pass away.
