Coming from County Antrim, Ireland, I relocated to the United States in 2004 with a background in electrical work. I started working in high-end apartments, bars, restaurants, and residences in New York City. After moving to San Diego in 2010, I passed my Journeyman Electrician exam and the C-10 Electrical Contractors exam. I partnered with different firms to develop client relationships in Southern California prior to launching Emerald Pacific Electric in 2010. In 2022, I started O’Kane Electric, a family-run business, to enhance our service offerings for our clients.

As a Poway local for years, I decided to start my Handyman business in 2007, as a child in PQ and Poway attending local schools, Black Mountain Middle School followed by Mt Carmel, and then into Poway to finish my high schooling.

In my middle and high school days, I assisted my father, who ran a professional handyman business, helping him after school and on weekends. I developed a strong grasp of the trades after many years of grunt work, so after completing high school, I joined Kraft General Contractors as an apprentice, where we fulfilled various customer requests. After six years, I moved up from Job Manager to Foreman.

Desiring a shift, I worked for a handyman service for four years covering RB, PQ, and SD,
and I also spent three years with a property maintenance firm. I sought a new opportunity.
