Being the son of Calvin, a mason, I remember working with him since I was a child. Later, he shifted to general contracting, where he built a variety of homes. I carried bricks, blocks, and cement, assisting him with whatever he needed. When he built homes, I was there to lend a hand; I think I drilled my first electrical hole at age 7. To be honest, I grew to dislike construction as I got older and wanted to pursue other paths. During my college years, I took a temporary job with an electrical contractor that was meant to last just three days. I performed well and finished the job in just a day and a half. He told me I could keep working if I remained productive. I found that I truly enjoyed the work and had a knack for electrical wiring. Since I wanted to marry soon, I left school and worked full-time as an electrician. Now, over 20 years later, I own my own business, have been happily married for 24 years, and have six children. I am grateful for all my blessings.
