As the owner, my journey in San Luis Obispo has been focused on education and hands-on experience. My journey started with an associate's degree in Electrical Technology from Cuesta College. It taught me the basics of electricity along with crucial elements for running a successful business. After completing my degree, I pursued my journeyman's certification and gained experience in various electrical settings, including residential, commercial, and industrial. Bill earned his Electrical Engineering degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Edward received his degree in Industrial Technology from Cal Poly. The brothers acquired the company from their parents in 1989. We added Electrical Engineering to our offerings in 1981, and it has grown steadily. We usually employ between 60 and 70 staff, reaching a high of 150 during a five-story hospital project for Marian Hospital in Santa Maria in 2011. Thoma Electric encompasses divisions for Electrical Engineering, Major Electrical Construction, Small Electrical Construction, and Electrical Service. “All projects are significant, regardless of size”. Thoma Electric is equipped to oversee projects from cradle to grave, from design through construction. I completed my BS in Industrial Technology at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1983.
