After nearly ten years in the field, I recognized my desire to create something meaningful for myself and my family. In 2024, I decided to take the plunge and launch Blanusa Electric. I wanted to establish a business that would let me maintain my commitment to high-quality electrical services. I am passionate about my work, but I also wanted to take charge of my future in a way that harmonized professional achievement with personal satisfaction.

We comply with California State regulations that require all electricians to be certified at the Journeyman level, while trainees must be at the Apprentice level. All electricians at Makena Electric, including our President and Founder Andre Miller, have successfully passed the California State Journeyman test and are registered with the State of California or are currently enrolled in a trade school.

Owner Andre M. started his electrical career as a trainee, finishing his apprenticeship at Associated Builders and Contractors, where he received his completion certificate. After completing the necessary apprenticeship hours, Andre successfully passed the State of California Journeyman exam, the benchmark for electricians in the state. With his Journeyman license secured, Andre sought to learn as much as he could from the seasoned professionals in the field, continuously studying and questioning their techniques.

Once he gained confidence, Makena Electric was established. Equipped with the knowledge from experienced professionals and trade school training, Andre has positioned Makena Electric to compete successfully and provide clients with exceptional service.

Our relationship evolved to also cover referrals for EVSE installations for Tesla clients. We still provide EVSE installations for Tesla clients and a range of other electric vehicle brands. Additionally, we assist major solar firms with service upgrades and sustainable wiring.

I grew up in Orange County, the child of a small business owner. My dad ran a thriving upholstery shop for more than 35 years, dedicating himself to producing high-quality work. He wasn't one to brag about his abilities or invest much in marketing, yet as his reputation grew through word of mouth, his clients turned into loyal customers. From him, I gained insights on how to treat clients with honesty and fostering lasting relationships instead of seeking short-term gains. Every summer, I worked alongside my dad, preparing old furniture for a fresh start. My mother worked for an electrical contractor in her youth and would tell captivating stories about the people she worked with. That’s how I became familiar with the electrical sector. I have been an electrician since 1984 and completed a formal five-year apprenticeship. Although my business model is different from my dad's, I maintain the core values and principles he taught me!
