Under Richard's leadership, Brea Electric has expanded its services to include wiring for home computers, home theaters, and sound systems, along with energy-efficient lighting.

Brea Electric is thought to be the longest-standing family-owned business in Brea. Richard Holly, the third-generation owner of Brea Electric Company, continues a unique legacy that has lasted over 80 years. In the late 1920s, Richard's grandfather Frank joined the company as a partner and became its sole owner in 1932.

In the late 1970s, Richard's father, Don Holly, took over the business. Having witnessed the dawn of the electronic age, Don installed numerous color TVs during the late 50s and early 60s. He recalled, “The children would be sitting there, hardly able to wait for the antenna to be connected so they could enjoy cartoons.”

Richard took over the business in 1996 and has made it more successful than ever in its long history. Richard noted, “I received calls from community members saying my grandfather wired their homes; I realized how significant it was to be a third-generation owner.”

Today, Richard's sons, Camden and Quintin, are learning from their father to eventually take over Brea Electric as the fourth generation.
