I hail from County Antrim, Ireland, and arrived in the U.S. in 2004 as an experienced electrician. I started working in high-end apartments, bars, restaurants, and residences in New York City. Upon relocating to San Diego in 2010, I took and passed my Journeyman Electrician and C-10 Electrical Contractors exams. I partnered with different firms to develop client relationships in Southern California prior to launching Emerald Pacific Electric in 2010. Recently, in 2022, I launched a family business, O’Kane Electric, to expand our services for clients.

As a long-time resident of Poway, I established my handyman services in 2007, growing up in PQ/Poway going to local schools, Black Mountain Middle School and later Mt Carmel, and then into Poway to finish my high schooling.

During my Middle School/High School years, I gained experience working with my father, who had a handyman company, working with him after school and basically every single weekend. I developed a strong grasp of the trades through years of hands-on experience, so once out of high school, I was hired on as an apprentice for Kraft General Contractors, where we fulfilled various customer requests. Following six years, I moved up from Job Manager to Foreman.

Seeking a new direction, I worked for a handyman service for four years covering RB, PQ, and SD,
and I also spent three years with a property maintenance firm. I was ready for a new challenge.
