Founded in 1949 by Tennis and Alma, and has been a dependable provider of power and security services in the West Alabama region for over a generation. Residential and commercial security services were initiated as part of the power company in the mid-20th century.

During 1972 a new partner, Chuck Turner as a partner of Jackson Electric and enhanced intrusion detection design and implementation. By 1978 the separation of the firm's security services from the power division, and in the following year it became JSS. That same year, JSS acquired Business Security Services in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

In 1988, Chuck Turner took ownership of both the power and protection services and integrated the companies. The year 1992 marked, Brad Turner was appointed as Vice President of Jackson Security Services, and by 2000, Jim Essary was brought on as the General Manager and Vice President.

The year 2014 marked, Jackson Electric Services combined with a similar company in the Tuscaloosa area. At present, Jackson Security Services carries on its dedication to quality. He continues to lead the company as General Manager and Vice President.
