I called Zed Electric on a recommendation, and I'm glad I did. I have a rental property with a washer/dryer unit and the electrical outlet was no longer working and pulling out of the wall (tripped the circuit breaker).

I called another recommended electrician and told it would be two weeks.

Then I called Zed and they had a distant appointment as well, but offered an alternative whereby my tenant would let Zed know his work schedule and if time opened up, they'd call and come take a look.

They came the following day (""Dave"") and he replaced it for a total of $175 ($145 hourly rate, minimum 1 hour, and parts at cost).

They don't charge for travel time either.

Given the other positive reviews, I'd strongly consider having Zed do electrical upgrades in my own home.

Very professional scheduler who took down all my info. Always great when I don't have to be present during repairs on a rental property. Big time saver.

David and his team have been helping us with a major remodel that includes a major upgrade to the electrical system. They have been extraordinary in evaluating, communicating and executing every aspect of upgrade... from coordinating the metering changes with the power company down to the finest interior design feature. We bought a house that needed quite a bit of electrical work done on it, placing ceiling lights, running cables for comms, replacing all outlets, and putting in a new panel. Dave and his guys did an awesome job. Dave Zedaker was always responsive, easy to work with, and willing to take the time to listen and explain everything. His on site guy whose name was also Dave, did an excellent job and was also very easy to work with. I had them compete the job, and there were no surprises when the bill came due.
Both Daves were always on time for the appointments, and they even closed out the work a couple of days early.
I am very happy with their work, and will definitely use them again.

My first time doing business with Zed Electric today. They are now my go-to electrician. Although they had come highly recommended by a trusted source I tend to be skeptical especially with contractors. Eric called before arriving to let me know he was on his way and what his ETA was. Upon arrival he quickly assessed what needed to be done and got to work. Eric was totally professional and knew exactly what he was doing. He worked quickly and efficiently. He finished on time and the cost was a little less than estimated. I could not be happier with the work Eric did here at my home.

Anyone who has shopped around for service in the ""trades"" (electricians, plumbers, handymen, etc.) and has lived with the results of their choices. Over my 65 years on this earth, I have learned that the person at the top is the one who leads his or her staff by example. Dave Zedaker (Zed) is my top pick for electricians. Honest, direct, caring (yeah that matters), and reasonable for the excellent work performed are his attributes...and thus...the reason Zed Electric sits atop the Yelp reviews. Just give him a call and blame me for recommending his services.

What a great experience! Zed Electric took our tiny panel in a closet to an expandable panel fully up to code on a house that hasn't been upgraded since it was built in 1952. The nightmare of getting SDG&E approval and City Inspection, and SDG&E stringing a new line was handled from start to finish with professionalism. Thank you to Dave Zedaker for personally handling those parts. The electricians who spent two days working on the job were amazing. I had no idea how much work would be involved. Thank you, everyone. including reception for doing such a great job at keeping me as calm as you could.

I'm 93 and don't drive. My favorite floor lamp broke and at the recommendation of my neighbor, I called Zed. Andy, a pleasant, well groomed young man arrived on time, fixed my lamp fast, and was gone within minutes. I highly recommend Zed.

We bought a home built in the late 70's that had no ceiling lighting, didn't have a cable outlet on the wall where our TV needed to go, and needed some electrical work in the garage upgraded from a DIY solution to an up-to-code permanent solution. David from Zed came and took notes on my extensive wish-list of upgrades and fixes throughout the house. I had a detailed quote the next day that reflected the walk-through we did together.

ZED sent out Niall to do the work for our house. Niall was friendly and already had a good understanding of the project when he arrived. Our project was a week's worth of work for Niall. He got our house wired up right while we were off at work. Felt totally comfortable leaving our home in his care while we were gone. I had a few last minute changes (adding a few dimmer switches, installing a fan on a really tall ceiling) and Niall rolled with it all. He was incredibly helpful and helped us to understand the ins and outs of how everything worked.

I know we'll have more electric work to do in the years to come and I'm looking forward to using ZED again. Can't recommend them highly enough!
