A light fixture in a bedroom stopped working. They came out and charged $180 to 'diagnose' the problem, which, with a voltage tester would have taken them less than 10 seconds. They wanted to charge an additional $200+ to install a light fixture - not even providing the fixture. Luckily, I found out about it before they came out to do it, and had my handy-around-the-house hubby do it. Put in a $30 light fixutre in under 5 minutes, and we were done - the only tool required was a screwdriver. The whole job, even if you charged a travel fee and an hour minimum should have been less than the $180 they charged for the 'diagnosis'. I tell everyone I know to avoid them!

This review is long overdue - sorry Zed Electric. We were having issues with a ""ghost"" in the house. The downstairs lights would blink on and off. We called Zed and they fit us in very quickly. When the electrician arrived, he changed out the circuit breaker for the circuit with the blinking lights. We turned on all lights and they didn't appear to be flashing. Woohoo! However, a couple of days after he left, they started blinking again. We called Zed back and they sent another electrician out. He removed some more parts from the circuit board (I apologize if I am not discovering everything correctly). It turns out the bus board had some corrosion on it at that spot. The electrician was able to move that circuit to a new spot and we haven't had a problem since. Since they guarantee their work, they didn't charge us for the second visit. Zed Electric had previously done other work around our house and I have always been impressed with the quality and professionalism.

I searched for a while to find a trustworthy electrician to perform the work I needed done. When I requested a quote they asked for a copy of the inspection report that I had done for my new place and I sent it over. They sent me a quote that was much lower than what I had been quoted elsewhere. I asked if they needed to see the space in person to give a firm estimate they said no. I didn't want to get the work done right away so about 6 months later I emailed back to have them come out and they called me within minutes of sending the email. They scheduled me in right away and Carlos did an amazing job. He was very kind and knowledgeable. It ended up being a bigger job than anticipated but the quote never changed. I would highly recommend them. THANK YOU!

Another great find from Yelp. We hired Zed to fix multiple electrical issues in our new house and to install outlets and some outdoor lighting (light strip over our garage) and two gate lights.

We scheduled for an estimate where Matt came over for a pandemic safe in-house estimate. Matt said he had been an electrician for over 20-30 years and now only does estimates, but his previous experience really informed him on the scope and cost of work.

We had things we had to fix and then a few wish list items, and Zed kindly broke down line by line how much each thing would cost. We did most of the items on the list, and did some of it ourselves.

Chris came over and installed everything to perfection over about 3 days (this was a bigger job).

We are so happy with the quality of service we received here and will call them up should any electrical issues arise.

Chris from Zed Electric did an amazing job today! He diagnosed and fixed a potentially serious electrical issue and got my lights back up and running. He has serious attention to detail. Yesterday I called Zed early with an electrical issue in my home, which worried me. (I had not used them previously.) Zed Electric sent an electrician over to my home an hour later. Chris arrived and did a terrific job. He was competent, well-trained, and very nice. He identified and fixed the problem much faster than I'd expected. I would like to recommend Zed wholeheartedly.

We had a switch that had stopped working, and we noticed melted plastic inside, so we were kind of freaked out about potential fire hazard.
We called Zed Electric for a second opinion. The first (not Zed) electrician said we needed to rewire the whole front of our house, at a cost of $4000. The electrician from Zed said we needed a new switch, and the reason for the problem was simply that the switch had been installed backwards. Cost? $180. Thank you, Zed Electric, for being honest, and saving us $3820.

I've used Zed Electric numerous times and have always been impressed. Years ago, I needed power ran to a new hot tub. I researched a bunch of companies and selected Zed Electric. The technicians were on-time, courteous, and did great work.
About a month ago, we purchased a new home and needed a variety of electrical work done that was noted in our home inspection. I reached out to Zed Electric once again. I spoke with Dave, the owner, and explained what work was needed. He asked for a copy of the inspection report so they would know exactly what they were looking at when they came to do their estimate. Matt arrived on time to perform a more comprehensive inspection. He noted a few additional items, which the general inspection hadn't caught. About a week later, I was able to get an appointment set and the work completed.
In the midst of all of this, I was having some repair work done to my existing home to get it ready to sell. One of the contractors tripped a couple of circuits and they wouldn't reset. As luck would have it, one of them was the circuit my internet connected to, and since I'm currently working from home, I needed it fixed ASAP. I called Zed Electric and explained the situation. Dave was able to dispatch a technician immediately and within the hour I was back up and working.
I realize many reviews are written based solely on a single experience, either good or bad. But, I have now had four great experiences with Zed Electric. So look no further, Zed Electric will not let you down.

I have used Zed Electric for several projects around my house. I find them reliable and trustworthy. Their technicians are always informative, honest and courteous. I never feel taken advantage of, but rather, supported. I have recommended them to my friends. I would not hesitate to call them for any other projects that may come up in the future.
