Love this guy! I've used him for probably 5 years now. He's fast, knowledgeable, and fair price. His business is family owned and operated, which is huge in these times. Big jobs and small ones he has never turned me down, and I can always trust the job is done right! If you want quality service, call Youngs!

We were tired of the hassle of using our gasoline powered generator especially with the increasing frequency of power outages in Placerville. We purchased a new Generac, propane-powered generator and hired James to wire it for us. He and his assistant were prompt, efficient, and charged a reasonable fee for the job. We couldn't have asked for better service.

Giving you all an update. I had left a 5 star review for Youngs Electric when James came out to my house for a electrical outlet that had popped in my garage causing a spark. I had just moved into my home, and that really worried me. James arrived and started diagnosing the problem. He went out to my electric panel and said that he strongly advised I needed a whole new panel, he said the one that I had there was a recall back in the 90's due to it catching on fire. I didn't question it, being a first time homeowner and trusting. It cost 1,900 and some. I remember looking at the panel after he left and being confused by the way he labeled it. Not knowing any better, I didn't call him on it, I just felt relieved and felt I dodged a possible fire now that I had the new panel. It wasn't till last week when I had to go out to the panel because I kept having a breaker trip everytime I put the swamp cooler on. I didn't use my swamp cooler first few years I lived here, only a couple times. So last week, it tripped several times, turning off everything in family room, hallway lights, porch lights, garage door and lights, everything in my spare room and of course the swamp cooler. The last time I went outside to flip the switch, which was a 15amp switch for all that I listed, the switch was so hot to the touch! That scared me! I called first thing in the morning and Hannah was very nice and got James to give me a call, so I could tell him what was going on. He called and said he could come out next day to look. He showed up and seemed totally annoyed! I told him, I'm pretty sure that a swamp cooler needs its own switch and there's way too many on the 15amp, I also told and showed him how he labeled the panel and how it was incomplete and not legible. He said ya well looks like it faded, I said no it's not labeled. He then said, ya when he put the new panel in he just copied and wired everything exactly the same way it was. Then he said, well ya it should have its own switch. He then said, well it's not under warranty anymore, it's past 4yrs. I said well I feel it should have been correctly the first time. He then said, fine but I'm going to have to charge you a service fee, $150 for coming out to my house! He said he might have the part in his van. When he got the part and walked back to the panel, I said $150? I don't think that I should have to pay for something that should have been done the first time. He got so annoyed, said fine that's just fine I'm not worried about it whatever. It took him no more than 7 minutes to fix it! He said, turn your swamp cooler on, I went inside turned it on and waited...My boyfriend came inside and said, that guy is so unprofessional! He left, he just left! Got in his van and took off without saying another word! My house could've caught fire! I hope this review helps anyone looking for an honest professional electrician. That being said, I do not recommend Youngs Electric, and have no choice but to give a one star rating. Very disappointed.

I spent a never ending evening engineering a lighting plan that finally would fulfill my desires and perfectionist decor. Being inspired by the likes of extremism, BDSM, and Zuckerberg, I had decided the design.

But, I required a hand.

I didn't need a journeyman, too expensive, and I can finger a junction box. I needed a cheap work grub to hang tight while I lay the pipe on the floor. Take measurements, and let me shoot the carp, so I got me a fairy.

The specs of the lighting plan was unadorned but also convoluted, due to its organic shape for the structure.

I decided to use 1/2"" conduit to really get accurate bends and representation of this enormous illumination shaft. I was pleased that the laborer was able to bend that pipe, and hold it steady for as long as possible.

By the end of a 10 hour shift, we had the 480 hooked up and the sparky was sore. Great hireling.

Best Regards,
JC

James is an absolute beast! Always delivers! He does all of our Residencial and Commercial electrical work. My business depends on my machinery being able to operate and everytime some goes down James finds a way to get us back up and running! I would recommend to everyone. Always does a killer job!

Had James install a transfer switch for our generator because we were tired of running extension cords through the house whenever the power went out (being a PG&E customer, this isn't uncommon). His work was done quickly, professionally, efficiently, and met our demands/desires 100% at a more than reasonable price. They are a local company, and after my dealing with them, there is nobody else I would call for electrical work now. If you're debating a transfer switch, or any other electrical work, I would stop reading this review and give them a call.

I want to be fair in this review and so just sharing facts that the business owner is already aware of. First is the fee: $315 for no more than an hour and a half. That's $200 per hour, for a non-licensed young man who had to call for instructions. This was labor only, noting that the product I purchased from Home Depot did not come with light bulbs I had to run out and buy them. (My late husband was an electrician and always supplied light bulbs when needed.) I am also unhappy that the technician did not fix one of my tasks-a glowing LED light. Business owner said he ""doesn't do bandaids."" Checked with PG&E and there are no issues with my electrical and the owner inferred rewiring. I'd rather have the bandaid since it is a harmless solution. Very disappointing.

Great service as usual. Very responsive. There was a small issue with my TESLA Wall charger and called YES. They responded quickly. James made here in Pollock Pines a day sooner than the set appointment. It was an issue with the charger itself but he promptly diagnosed the issue and fixed it. Charger works great again! Highly recommended.

After contacting several electricians with no call back, I made yet another call this morning to Young's Electrical Services. Not only did I get a call back within hours, I had two extremely capable, hardworking, and polite young men at our hours within hours to give us a quote. They gave me what I thought was a VERY reasonable quote and I expected to have to schedule another time for them to come back out, to my surprise they said they could do the work right there on the spot. I would have been impressed with the company without their ability to act so quickly, but the service from the moment I picked up the phone with Hannah to the job being complete was just fantastic. I will absolutely use Young's Electrical Services for any future needs - so thankful to have found them!
