John Young, founder of Young Electrical Services, obtained his electrician license 35 years ago in the state of Maryland. In 1987, he joined a major systems design company in a management capacity. He obtained licenses in many U.S. states and decided to be based ""temporarily"" in California while traveling for different projects. He quickly discovered that he enjoyed the California sun more than the Maryland snow, and he has called California home ever since. In 2000, he launched his own business, combining his expertise in commercial electrical design with his skills in residential electrical solutions. Young Electrical Services has been successfully serving the Bay Area for over a decade.

Dale D.I called to schedule an appointment and was surprised to receive same day service to replace a GFI outlet and get an assessment/estimate on repairing ballasts in several UV fixtures. The service was professional and costs were reasonable. I was especially pleased that I did not need to schedule a service call that could have been several days to as much as a week later, which was the case for other electricians. I would caution homeowners to ask for an estimate prior to the work and possibly at the time that you schedule the service call, since zealous troubleshooting of problems can commit you to an hourly fee. A less honest businessman might exploit this to their advantage, but I found this company to be conservative in creating solutions and reasonable in assessing charges.
