Company Overview

Wood Electric serves as a complete electrical contractor operating in Norwalk and its surrounding areas since 2001. We specialize in electrical installations for homeowners and commercial enterprises, such as energy-saving lighting solutions and the latest safety technologies. All our services come with a written estimate, and we will consult with the customer regarding any additional services. Get in touch with us today for more insights! We offer 24/7 availability.

I started this business in 2001 as a weekend project. Through nurturing relationships with my clients, I understood this needed to become a full-time operation. They shared troubling experiences with previous contractors. My goal is to make my clients happy not only with my work and prices but also with my integrity. I personally handle all jobs alongside my brother. I maintain a policy that ensures if you’re not entirely satisfied, you don’t have to pay me anything.

I am a proud husband and father who values quality in my work. I started my career as an electrician when I was just 14 years old. I’ve been employed by major companies across the U.S. and contributed to their success. In 2001, I decided I wanted to pursue the dream of being my own boss. I began working on jobs for friends, family members, and neighbors. I quickly realized this was my true calling, so by 2004, I took the leap and went independent, passing the state board exam. Since then, I have been delivering electrical services throughout Southern California with a smile.

I called Wood electric to inquire about getting some electrical work done at my house. Joey answered and told me to text him my name and address and he would call me back that night to talk more about it. It's been a week and I haven't gotten a call. If he didn't want the work or is too busy the least he can do is text me and let me know. This is very unprofessional. I called Blueman and AM&G electric and they both came out right away to give me an estimate. I'm going to hire one of them and pay them the $4000 for the job and I'm also referring them to my 2 coworkers and father in law who also want panel upgrades and other miscellaneous work. I will never again call Wood electric again.

I cannot recommend Wood Electric highly enough. We wanted recessed lights out in the living room of our new house, and after sorting through a handful of estimates, Wood Electric seemed to be the best reviewed and had a very reasonable price.

Joey came out on a Sunday for a quick visit to take a look at our place. Even though I had told him I was looking at 4-6 lights he didn't try to upsell me and told me four would be perfect. He explained the kind of lights he uses, where they would go and why. He followed up via email and text and made arrangements for the project the following week.

Sure enough, he arrived midday while I was at work, stayed in touch with me by text and sent me a few photos as soon as the job was done just a few hours later. The lights look great, the dimmer looks and works great and he will be the first call I make for any future electrical needs. He should be your first call as well.

This review is a little late. I recently purchased a home and wanted to see about putting in some AC but the existing circuit breaker was extremely old and later found out that the model I had was recalled due to it being a fire hazard. I was new to the area and didn't know any electricians. Doing a quick Google search I came across Wood Electric and left a message on their webpage. Within minutes I received a call from Joey. The very next morning he was at my house, did the inspection, and gave me the instructions on what I needed to do before he could start working. The entire process was so extremely fast that I couldn't believe it. Once we got the meter spot from SCE, Joey and his team were at my house the very next morning and before I knew it they had replace my circuit breaker box and installed a sub panel for running AC. He was extremely professional and friendly. He told me everything in detail what he was going to do and got it done in that very same day. If I ever need anymore electrical work, I will definitely be calling Wood Electric again.

Knowledgeable, courteous, prompt, and clean. Joey came on time, explained all that needed to be done. We appreciate not being taken advantage of. Prices were extremely reasonable. We even hit him up to install a ceiling fan at the last minute. It didn't even bother him. Do I recommend him.... Certainly. Will I hand out his business cards..... Definitely. Please if you need an electrician please give him the business. You won't be sorry. Thanks Joey and crew.

Joey and his crew were on time and professional. After calling him for a general quote he stopped by the house the same day and gave me a specific quote for the job I needed done. He's straight and to the point with his quotes and tells it like it is. He was able to upgrade my panel to a 200 amp panel and pull wires for an AC and Furnace. After getting quotes from multiple electricians Joey's was the most reasonable.

My lights were flickering again so I called Joey last night. I told him that my UPS units were beeping and lights were flickering but that the bus panel was not buzzing or sparking anymore. He said that it is very likely something to do with the powerline and that Edison should probably look at it. I called Edison and they eventually came to check out the problem. Sure enough the neutral line to the house was snapped in two because of a tree branch that fell. I am so glad that I called Joey and that he knew how to get it fixed. I can't recommend Wood Electric any more than I already have now.

Gave a call to Joey because half the outlets of my house were not working. Joey was honest and referred me to Edison because they could come to the house and inspect the problem for free. But after further analyzing the problem Joey was NICE enough to stop by the house and inspect the problem FREE OF CHARGE.

20 mins later Joey arrived and determined that the previous owner who did the electrical work left it unsafe and he referred me to Edison.

I wanna give thanks to Joey for being honest and kind enough to take the time out of his busy schedule to visit my home and inspect the problem when he didn't have to.

Thank you.

Joey and his crew saved the day for us the Friday before the Labor Day holiday weekend. Our air conditioner disconnect panel had fried wires and shut down our system. We also had 12 people coming from out of town to stay with us so it was indeed a personal and safety emergency.

Thankfully Joey came right over, diagnosed the root cause of the problem, fixed the damaged disconnect and got our air back on for the weekend. Saved !

During his visit Joey also showed us how the root cause of our problem was a faulty Zinsco main electric panel. These were discontinued in the 70's due to being a fire and electrocution hazard. Our fried wires because of the faulty main circuit breaker not working was a classic example of this malfunction.

We thank God that our house didn't catch on fire as there was most certainly an electrical fire burning in our wall. (see picture).

Joey and his crew then came back on Labor Day morning and installed a new Square-D main panel, and only had the power off for 3 hours to do so. They were very clean and made nice clean cuts of the stucco surrounding the new panel which will make the patchwork nicer too. Joey then referred me to a guy to do the stucco patchwork for a reasonable price after the new panel was installed.

Wood Electric is an excellent business and deserves your support. I highly recommend them and will call them first in the future.

Apologies for the late review but we used Wood Electric for a emergency a few months ago and could not be happier, our home was built in the 50's and the electrical panel was probley still close to original. One night we had some scary sounds coming from the panel box so we called Joey and he came right over and by the next day we had a new panel. Their prices were reasonable and the staff was nothing but professional. They even made the extra effort and went on our roof (scary) to disconnect an old air unit that was draining power. I would recommend them to family and friends with out hesitation!

Bought an older home. Needed to replace the electrical panel with a 200 amp panel and install GFCI outlets in kitchen and bathrooms. Joey came out , gave me a good price and completed the work on time and on budget. Very easy to work with and very knowledgable. I highly recommend Wood Electric for all your electrical needs. Will definitely do business with them again.
