Having graduated in Electrical Engineering in 1978, Steve Wong saw an opportunity. At just 22, he recognized the chance to obtain his contractor's license and launch his own electrical firm. “The timing was perfect,” Wong reflects. “I had connections with my family's friends, who were growing their businesses and needed electrical services, similar to what I provided for my family's farm. Trust came from my family connections, and my Chinese language skills helped in communication. As the Santa Clara Valley experienced development booms in the 1980s, Wong relocated his office to Palo Alto and now employs over 70 people. Over the years, Steve Wong has earned respect across the contracting industry in the valley, serving clients from Fortune 500 companies to smaller developers.
