Having graduated in Electrical Engineering in 1978, Steve Wong saw an opportunity. At just 22, he recognized the chance to obtain his contractor's license and launch his own electrical firm. “I felt it was the ideal time,” Wong recalls. “I had built a customer base through my family's friends, who were expanding their businesses and required electrical work, just as I had done for my family's farm. My family connections fostered trust, and my ability to speak Chinese facilitated communication. During the development surges in the 1980s, Wong moved his office to Palo Alto, where he now has a team of over 70. Over the years, Steve Wong has earned respect across the contracting industry in the valley, serving clients from Fortune 500 companies to smaller developers.
