I have no problems with Withacoochee River Electric. The people leaving bad reviews obviously haven't delt with Duke Energy Rates lately. They should move to a location that has Duke or TECO service.
I very seldom loose service at Hernando Beach and their rates are lower than the competitors. I know this because my son has Duke in Trinity and see his billing rates. I also moved here from Pinellas Co which had Duke.
If I could give this company 0 stars I would, just like many others have said.. my bill has always run 200 bucks.. as of 2021-22 Inflation had raised my bill double, well since the bill has went up not do to usage they asked for a additional deposit.. in December I paid one and now that inflation is going up more they are asking for more money due to price of bill increase ..it's sickening these companies are taking advantage of people and not to mention, 1 day late on your payment and you lose every single penny you paid in on these stupid deposits.. people in the office are nice but that doesn't make up for these crooks.. it's sad what the American people have to deal with.. they are making it where we can't afford to live... 0 stars
This company just sucks! Would give zero stars if I could! They even charge you to pay your bill that is already outrageous! Wish I could go to another company! My bill is always totally different!
Living in a Withlacoochee service area - if nothing else - is an educational experience. It's educated me on what it must be like to live in Venezuela, The Congo or any third world country where you never know if the power is going to be out from one day to the next. The only thing that's reliable about their caliber of service is that you can rely on it to go out. It doesn't take much.A relatively minor rain can roll through the area and a service outage is predictable. I really do wonder how people who have to depend on electrical medical devices survive being customers of this company..
No customer respect or customer appreciation. I own my home, they know I have invested.in solar system. I have vested interest in 5 year never been late with a bill until October 30, 2018. I had a bill for 290.44 because for some reason I missed last month bill. On November 1, bank processed my online payment. A note was stuck in my door that the electric company was at my door on November 5, We called to inquire why they were here. To collect payment!! When I called they want a letter from my bank!! My credit score is 738, that is hard earned and deserves respect! They spoke to me like we are deadbeats!! I called my bank they mailed a check for 290.44 on November 2. Actually in the five years the company has made no arrangement to accept my payment electronically!! Now I have to worry that ""they"" will process the check because I am so upset about being treated as a deadbeat and I let them know I am deeply insulted! They are completely unapologetic for their lack of respect. They justify it saying ""we are missing a payment"". This is what happens because they are the only supplier. They have the power and their arrogance is out of control.
I get my bill...$220 and change, so I go online to pay. Online my balance due is $225 and change. THEN to pay...there's a $2.75 ""convenience fee"". So...to pay my already expensive electric bill i must pay an additional $7.75.
I have to pay them for the honor to pay them. How is that right? As it is I have no alternative power source so what choice do I have? Buy a generator? Yeah, I can mail them a check but this is 2018... I shouldn't have to.
That ""convenience fee"" to pay bills and other hidden charges like that are shady, dishonest and just uncool. All of these utility companies, communication companies and the like have their hands in our pockets and I'm sick of getting nickeled-and-dimed into poverty.
Gentlemen...You didn't have lunch done....and it looked like the adams family reunion in here. weird up and down voltage, a/c dragging you know what i mean. Lot of new construction in this neck of woods. So i call it in. Hey i'm the only one...Turns out i need a neutral wire. Too bad i didn't have one. Aces to the night crew. Four trucks, seven guys on install of new lines..nobody meters and checks, that's SEVEN WREC HATS, No neutral wire. Go fig. On call crew figs it out. Braggin rights if i ever heard of such. Before you start on PIKE, nobody metered shit. Yet Seven WREC hats walked away, done deal. I will not sue for computer,fridge, other finite electronics that are now toast. I sent this to remind the guys, death is at your fingertips. I know yeah thanks. Still give ya tens on jd powers. Why? Because when it's raining sideways, and lightning all around, you guys are johnny on the spot. Bet you got family too. Top five most dangerous jobs. So THANK YOU. I have never had a problem with this location. They move quickly and are professional and friendly. I even updated my voter registration there. The office is clean and there is plenty of parking.
If it were possible I'd give them no stars. The only reason I give them a star is because the girls in the office are the sweetest ever. They're always courteous and friendly. There is one gal there that works two jobs. to make everyone smile she put up little solar powered figurines. I always noticed when someone gave her a new one. I come in one day and they're gone. Management would not allow them to personalize their work areas. Managers are always assh*les. I complained but it didn't help. I'm disabled and get my check on the 3rd of every month. They make my bill due on the 2nd. I asked if I could change that and to avoid the $5.00 late fee and they said no. If you pay on the phone or online they charge you. So to avoid charges you have to go and pay in person. I wish I could change electric companies!!!
