Wilson Electric
Company Overview
Focusing on all residential and small commercial or industrial electrical systems and services.
I, Matt Wilson, the business owner, have strived to obtain my electrical Journeyman's License, and I have since devoted myself to becoming an electrical contractor just prior to the recent economic challenges.
I firmly believe that providing excellent electrical service at a fair price for everyone is crucial for building a successful business.
I do not impose extra fees and consistently work to make customers feel they are receiving ""a little extra"" with my service.
Raised in a family with grandparents as retired architects and a father who has been a General Contractor for more than 25 years, I have always been surrounded by construction.
I have been involved in the construction field and have worked as an electrician for over 6 years.
I hold a California state certification as a General Electrical Journeyman and possess California state Contractor's License # 913065.

Called Matt Wilson about installing an EV charger and he immediately got back to me. He was very helpful, answered all my questions and offered to visit the place to do an evaluation and get me an estimate. Explained me different options...very honest and transparent regarding the work. Easily scheduled him for the work the same week and he did a fine job...quick, clean and reasonably priced. Would definitely ask his help for future projects. Thanks Matt !

Problem fixed and I could not get them to take money for their trip/time. Friday before New Year's. I had a fuse go off/shorted. Did all the switching off/on with no results. Wilson picked up my call. He had me turn off switches and unplug things in affected areas to rule out an issue there. With that not working he and another electrician came out, again on a Friday before New Year's. They figured it out in a split second in that I did not turn the affected switch all the way off before trying to flip it on. I expected a $100 bill for just coming out on a Holiday weekend and the time out of both of their days. I grabbed what cash I could find and kept insisting they take the money to which after about the 5th attempt he agreed to a nominal $20 to help cover gas. I valued having my electricity back on and would have paid whatever he asked for, hoping for it to not be more than $100. We would have been without lights, washer, and dryer without his generously working us in on a day he was not really planning to work.

Two other electricians had come out to quote me a price to hook up my hot tub. One was too busy and the other told me that my house couldn't support it. Matt and his crew came in and saved the day and did the job for a great price. We couldn't be more satisfied.

Came in for an initial consultation last week and scheduled an install for today at 8:00 am. Called around 8:30 am and tells me that my appointment never got put on their calendar. After reading the other flaky reviews I'll have to find a different electrician.

Great service from Mr. Wilson and Jimmy again! Major electrical problem was discovered and repaired in less than 2 hours!

These guys are great! They arrived on time, handled the easy things quickly and even figured out the problems with installing my stove hood. It required some carpentry that they did cleanly and well. I highly recommend them

See the photo I posted of the message from Matthew Wilson. Great assumption there, pal. Loving the capitals for the extra emphasis. I must be RICH since I live in Tiburon, not like there's any apartment-dwellers or renters in Tiburon... Not only that, if you base your pricing on income, you don't deserve my or anyone else's business.

I called him on the advice of Berkeley Parent's Network. On the first call, he did nothing but give me a snotty attitude so I thought, ""Well, maybe he's having a bad day."" I booked him anyway. What a mistake!
The next day when he was supposed to show up, no one came. I called and asked what the issue was and he said he din't have my phone number so couldn't call me to be let into the building. And when I asked if he had a call log to see what my number was, it was all nasty attitude all over again saying he didn't even write it down and how could I even think that he would know what my number was when he gets so many calls every day. It's not hard to determine a number when you know that you spoke to someone from an inbound call at around a specific time. And then he proceeded to tell me that coming out to the service call was a ""waste of time. You wasted an hour my time."" At that point, I let him know how unprofessional he was and hung up.
Completely unprofessional, completely not to be counted on. Don't put yourself through it.

Matt was great. We had an issue with the ground in our kitchen. He answered his phone right away. After talking to my husband he asked him to send a picture thinking he could advise him and save us some money. He responded to the picture immediately and said he would be here in an hour.
He arrived promptly, went right to work and identified the problem. He did the work at a reasonable price. We are so happy to find him. We will use him again and recommend him with no hesitation.

Matt's electrical work is outstanding. He is obviously (i) competent: able to clean up the mess left by an earlier electrician's incomplete work and finish it perfectly, (ii) honest: his bill was less than the estimated cost range, and (iii) available when we needed him. After these first several projects (one significant), that Matt finished for us on time and with an attention to details that I appreciate, we will ask him to complete a few others, such as adding another circuit for more lighting in the garage. We are pleased that we have found an electrician we trust--thank you Matt.
