The thing that stood out the most was how quickly and smoothly things happened. Paid the contract deposit online, scheduled the work within a few days, scheduled the inspection a few days later, and there were no hiccups. Not much else you can ask for in an electrician or contractor.

We had an excellent experience when Willow Glen Electric (WGE) added a NEMA 240v outlet to our garage for an EV. The garage is as far from the panel box as it is possible to get in our house. On top of that, our panel was an older, low amperage model that would need an upgrade.

After walking through instructions on the WGE site, I submitted photos of our garage and the electric panel to help them prepare an estimate. Matt Londren of WGE called within a day. One photo I took did not show information he needed to prepare an estimate. He stopped by that day to get the information.

A few days later, I received an estimate from WGE for parts, labor, and a permit. The estimate was higher than I expected and slightly more than a competitive bid. Therefore, I asked Matt many questions, in several rounds of emails, which he patiently answered. His final email to me included several photos of our site that he took during his visit, marked up on his computer to show where WGE would install a new panel box and how they planned to route a dedicated electric line through our attic crawl space to the remote garage for the EV.

Impressive and more thorough than the competition. We accepted WGE's bid.

WGE secured the necessary municipal permit quickly, scheduled an installation date with us well in advance, and arrived on time. They installed the new panel box and outlet in one day and cleaned the work site afterwards. When we found that a few outlets in our home did not work after the panel upgrade, WGE apologized and returned to fix this the next day at no cost.

Finally, WGE arranged with us a date on which they would meet the city inspector to review their work. They sent us several reminders and again showed up on time to meet the inspector, who approved their work. Quality work from start to finish.

I called Willow Glen Electric and asked about their ""Home Electrical Safety Inspection"" that they mention on their website. The guy I talked to was very rude to me and said that they don't do inspections. What? Why is it on your website then? Afterwards I hired them anyway to replace some of my broken outlets and told them to test everything. They did a fine job with the replacements, but afterwards I noticed that one of the outlets was still not working, even though they claimed to have tested them all before they left.

Overall the service was ""ok"", but I expected better based on the other Yelp reviews.

Willow Glen is fantastic! We used them to install a Tesla EV charger. Great service from the first contact through the installation and billing. Matt came to our house and laid out all the options for us. Raphael came out to do the installation and he was fantastic - experienced, efficient, and just a super nice guy (he very nicely put up with all my curiosity). I would use Willow Glen again in a heartbeat.

They did a custom Tesla Charger install in my garage in a location that took extra work to route the cables back to the panel (as far away as it could have been). Being an engineer, I probably know just enough to be dangerous :) but more generally I was very happy with them how they answered all my technical questions and ways we could do the install as well as upgrade it later if needed.
The 2 electricians who came to do the install came on time, were efficient when they worked, were clean, and got the job done right. They were also patient and accommodating with my requests.

Couldn't have asked for more.
