West End Electric is one of the most reliable, efficient, fair and friendly businesses of any kind I have ever interacted with. From their friendly phone-answerer/owner Wrenn, to Ruben, the electrician who always comes right away to diagnose and fix whatever we need, they are the best. They have crawled all over our circa 1981 home in the west end of Galveston and upgraded almost every electrical part. Everything works without a problem after they're there. Their prices are very fair, and transparent, too. I recommend them without any hesitation.

I had a great experience with Ruben who came to repair and replace a light fixture on a high ceiling above a steep stair case. He listened and then did his work quickly and professionally. West End is quite expensive compared to alternate quotes I received for the same work because they charge by the hour rather than for the complexity of the job but in the end you get what you pay for.

They were professional. Very knowledgeable. We were completely gutting our house. I had 80% of the wiring ready to go. Rueben came out and got the new 200 amp service installed and finished where I left off (and fixed a few of my code issues) I will definitely have them back to finish the job after We get the drywall put in. Great company.

Had this company out to fix an electrical problem we were having and to install a 30 amp service. The electrician seemed to be professional and competent however the problem did not get fixed. We called the office and was told they would get back with us. After 3 calls we still haven't heard back from the office. Now the number is no longer in service.




The owner of this company came out personally to take care of the problems we had with one of his former employees. I am impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. He is here right now. He is very familiar with this floor plan and the builder and the way it is wired. I knew we had problems and he knows what's going on and how to fix it. I am adding on to my house soon and would love for him to do the electrical contracting. I would gladly recommend him and his company to anyone. Once again I am very impressed..Not only with his knowledge and professionalism but also his and the offices response to my problem. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!

Don't use anybody, other than these folks, as far as I'm concerned. Had a tree branch fall and hit the power drop to the weather head on my house on a Saturday night, The riser from the mete- can broke at the manifold and pulled the wires out of the can and broke the mounts in the can. Texas-New Mexico had to come out and kill the feed and disconnect and terminate the leads. We were in the dark that night.

Called West End Electric that night and the owner (William Downey) called me back immediately and said he would be over at 8:00/9:00 the next morning (Sunday). He reviewed the job, went and bought materials that he did not already have, completed the work and Texas-New Mexico was back out at 2:00pm and we were back in service. He even brought a generator over and ran power to the refrigerator while he did the repairs so the food would not spoil.

The installation of the old meter-can and harware had been done by another local electrical firm about 7 years ago and the improper installation was a contributing factor to the extensive damage. He pointed out the flaws in installation that allowed for the wiring and weather head to be so easily pulled from the house and break the manifold/mounts.

He did the job the right way and this event will not happen again.

Amazing customer service at your house on a Sunday morning; how often do you find that!!!! The price was very fair as well. (Reasonable weekday pricing for Sunday service)

I don't have the opportunity to give ""outstanding"" reviews very often, but William and West End Electric deserve this one.
