The Wentzel family made Sarasota their home in 1955 and has been meeting your air conditioning needs since 1959. In 2001, we officially adopted the name Wentzel's Heating & Air Conditioning Inc..
Mr. Wentzel, who grew up in the Bradenton-Sarasota area, entered the HVAC field with his father in 1959. After going solo, he now manages Wentzel's alongside his wife, son, and daughter, all actively working in the company.

My home A/C unit stop cooling on Saturday May 30th. I called Wentzel's as I bought a brand new A/C unit from them about 1 year ago. I spoke with Lisa over the phone and she mentioned to me that there was going to be no service call charge and there would be a charge if the issue was a maintenance related problem. Lisa also mentioned me that the technician would assess the problem and before fixing it, he would talk to me and explain what needed to be done, pricing, etc. When the technician from Wentzel's arrived he looked at the problem and fixed it in 20 minutes. The bill was $210.00 ($115.00 from flushing the drain line, and $95 service call). I was really upset that he charged me so much for such a simple fix, AND that he also charged me the service call fee. He never explained to me the problem and how much it would cost, before he fixed the issue. I would have done the fix myself, and paid the $95 service call fee. I spoke with the different people over the phone, including the office manager (Cindy Truett) and they refused to remove the service charge. Cindy was very arrogant and said that Lisa explained everything in detail multiple times, which is not true. I have a doctorate degree so I consider myself having at least average comprehensive skills to understand Lisa, especially is she was so detailed and explained so many times. Clearly, this was not the case. Cindy (office manager) was unapologetic and said that their offer was final (a very small discount), and if I did not pay this, it would go to the collectors office, basically threatening me. This way of doing business is upsetting, especially since I bought a brand new unit from them last year. I feel I was taken advantage of, and the technician never spoke to me about the problem and costs. He rather fixed the problem right away so he can charge me whatever he wanted. The technician even forgot to turn back the UV light before completing the job.

This is one of the best companies in town! My wife works for a non profit organization and they replaced several lighting fixtures in her office. She said they were professional, prompt, efficient and just big hearted people. We will both recommend them to all friends and family!!

So nice of you to reply so quickly considering my messages to your officers would go unreturned for weeks.
As far as ""loyal customer"" your company came out twice, once in fall 2015 to install new HVAC (which is already on the fritz) & once more to clean air ducts, where they caused $2000 in property damage & your field manager admitted to. American Express refunded me my money. Thankfully.
When my new HVAC co came to fix your system, they chuckled about what scam artists wetzels is. I guess it's known in the industry.
I'm happy to continuing having this debate in public, but it won't turn out well for your company (except for Lisa C, who is a doll).

I thought these people were very dishonest to us when we called, also when they show up they did nothing and still wanted 155.00. They run a scam on after hour calls. We asked them if they were from another company that we thought we called and they just said we will be there.
So I would watch them very very very dishonest people.

I was having problems with the heaters not working.m.Since one company was.setting me up for a generator I called them.
They came out and found breaker flipped. The electrition told me it was the heater.
I called Wentzels. He found the breaker had not only flipped again but had partially burned out. These guys have been great every time I called.

It is never fun to get your heat fixed, but Luis made it sort of fun. He quickly figured out the problem and then fixed it right away. My roommate and I were cleaning and blasting music and he sang right along to the music. It was funny. I would definitely use this company again.

Just had a semi-annual inspection performed by Zack....can't say enough about the quality of the service provided and the efficiency in performing the inspection. I would recommend this company for all heating and cooling needs!

They overcharged for a repair paid 1000 for a patch and Freon. They did a shit job and 3 months later it failed now they want us to pay them again for the same shoddy work. Do NOT aide this company they will fuck you over.

These guys are terrific. They show up on time, charge fair prices and you get exactly what you pay for. Highly recommend!

This company is the WORST - have had a twice annual prepaid service contract required by landlord. First they failed to notify us at renewal time (every year), then they only do 1 of the 2 required annual services which violated the terms of my lease. The system breaks down and landlord asks for copy of required service reports and guess what there is no 2nd service for the year. They come out and fix breakdown and then bill me at higher rate as contract had expired (never notified us). Then when I call they say contract hasn't expired because they didn't do 2nd service. This is just the worst run operation -happy to take your money but then they just disappear and respond that it is my responsibility to have them come out and do the services. Too many legitimate AC companies out there to pick from so pick someone else.
