*May 26, 2020 update: I requested service Velo Electric for two repairs -- converting a phone jack into an electrical outlet and installing a GFCI electrical outlet in the bathroom so that I can outfit my toilet with a Toto washlet.
Carlos is punctual, knowledgeable, and efficient. In no more than two-and-a-half hours, he completed the work. Part of the electrical work prompted Carlos to plug in my router/modem into another outlet so that internet service would not be disconnected (I am working from home). That was thoughtful of Carlos to get an extension cord to enable me to work uninterrupted.
Considering today is the hottest day of May 2020 and accessing the attic was part of the work, I am very appreciative of Carlos' willingness to visit at his earliest opening.
Thank you Carlos. You are the best of the best!

I actually found out about Velo Electric through a Home Depot pro installation request. There were a few other businesses who contacted me, but I went with Carlos because he was among the first to reach out, and was responsive and provided a fair estimate in a timely manner.
What I needed help with was a bathroom exhaust fan installation, and Carlos was a great help in answering my questions and went ahead and picked up the recommended fan for me. He made the entire process as simple and efficient as possible, was even able to get the install scheduled sooner than I thought. Overall, I would definitely work with Carlos again on future projects for the house!

My pool pumps went kaput. Based on the excellent reviews I called up Velo Electric for the repair. Carlos was very professional, very easy to communicate with, and punctual. He was able to quickly diagnose the problem with the prior installation which caused the pump burn-out so re-configured the breaker fuses to work properly and safely. He installed new breakers in a proper configuration and a new protective outdoor electrical box with new wiring and pump and sweep timers to replace the corroded 40 year box, an electrical hazard and accident just waiting to happen really. Now I have peace of mind. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Carlos and on that basis contracted with him to help me install external floodlight security cameras for my house. I will cover that installation in a separate review. Bottom line: I HIGHLY recommend Carlos.

Here is my security camera installation review of Velo Electric (I tried to post a follow up review but yelp deleted my prior one, so I'm posting this here). Based upon the great work Carlos did on my pool pump electricals (breakers, timers, outside electrical box), I contracted with him to help me install external security floodlight cameras for my house. He also installed a several non-floodlight cameras, and cleaned up some poorly installed outdoor sprinkler timer wiring. The installation required co-ordination and adjustment of the outdoor cameras by Carlos and myself. As I brought each camera up onto my security network, Carlos assisted me to adjust them physically for the right view. In my opinion, we worked together well, he on his ladder (my floodlights are up very high) and me on my smartphone, so we were able to complete all installations in one day. Carlos also helped me choose the correct equipment since some were hardwired to junction boxes, others solar connected. If you're looking for professional electrical help with security camera installation, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Carlos since my experience with him was EXTREMELY satisfactory. Thank you Carlos!

We had an additional panel installed and Carlos did a fantastic job. He showed up on time, completed the work faster than expected, on budget, and the work was very clean. I highly recommend Velo Electric.

Carlos did a great job replacing some electrical outlets in our bedrooms. He also checked out our electrical panel to make sure everything was in good working order. I will definitely call him again if I need help.

Carlos did a great job of relocating a subpanel for me. It was located in a loft in the gararge and I wanted brought down to Garage wall. I'm not as young as I used to be, so getting up in the loft to access a tripped breaker is going to only get more difficult. If you want an honest and responsive electrician Velo Electric is who to call.

We had our inspection and passed with flying colors! Carlos was there to walk the inspector through anything he needed to know. Carlos was busy doing another job and still made the time to come 30 minutes out to my home just for the inspection. Thanks again Carlos!

I put a bid out n order to get a NEMA 14-50 installed in my garage for EV charging. Carlos was not only competitively priced, but way more responsive than others. Because of that, I went with Carlos and Velo Electric. There was a slight misunderstanding around scheduling due to the holiday season, however Carlos took ownership of this misunderstanding and provided a discount. This gesture shows how professional Carlos is and how he takes care of his customers. I would have no problem working and/or recommending Carlos.

I just received another THREAT from Carlos at Velo Electrics within 1 min after posting my review and photos. He THREATENED to LIEN my house and SUE me for defamation if I don't remove my review. Please see attached texts. Below is the original post.
***************************************************
This is a NIGHTMARE. This guy THREATENED me.
1. DO NOT get this guy Carlos for service.
2. The incident happened on 12/20 around 8 pm.
3. Based on our text conversation, Carlos was supposed to install a used main breaker $120 in my house assuming my main breaker was broken.
4. When Carlos arrived, he told my tenant he had to go to Home Depot to get a new breaker, and he told my tenant my main breaker all burned out.
5. When I arrived, I asked Carlos why did he have to go to Home Depot and Why did he put two small old breakers (40 and 50 amp) instead of the one (90 amp) we agreed upon? Carlos got a bit angry and emphasized it does not matter, let's get your power on first.
6. Carlos further warned me the way he installed the breaker is not up to code and he needed to get me a new main breaker for $400, so it was only a temporary solution.
7. Carlos said since the new breaker would cost me $400, and the test results from other small breakers were all bad too, he suggested me to change the whole panel for $400 or I would have the same problem again. I almost agreed on that until I clarified there was additional labor charge $1200.
8. Carlos verified 100 amp breaker would work with this panel. I remembered I saw the 100 amp breaker in Home Depot only costs around $40.
9. I was afraid Carlos was trying to rip me off, so I asked for my main breaker back which he hid in his bag. I asked Carlos why there was NO sign of burning on my main breaker. He did not answer.
10. I told Carlos I would get my own new breaker the next day. And I verified with him since the two small old breakers he installed was not up to code and not the parts we agreed upon, he could not charge me another trip fee $215 when he came back the next day. He said ""YES"", but he wanted me to get the new breaker within one week or he had to come back to take off those two small old breakers or he would get trouble.
11. At the time of his leaving, Carlos wanted me to pay $390 because he used two breakers. I did not think he complete the job, and the parts were not we agreed upon and not up to code. So I refused to pay till he came back the next day to install the new breaker.
12. Carlos threatened me he would take off those two small old breakers and I would not have power for the night. I insisted if he took off those two breakers, he needed to put my main breaker back on, and I would report his unethical conduct to the license board. Carlos said, ""DON'T WORRY, YOU GOT FREE SERVICE FOR TONIGHT"".
12. Guess what? My old breaker was working fine. Carlos suddenly asked me to pay $215 trip fees or he was going to LIEN my house. He immediately took out his phone and took a photo of me with my house number.
13. I had reported Carlos to the license board.
14. My construction friend checked my panel yesterday and confirmed nothing wrong with all my breakers neither the panel. So I almost got ripped off $2000.

I was putting up my Christmas lights, and when I plugged in the lights, my porch light came out of the socket! I was worried about leaving wires exposed with the light dangling, and a storm was coming in. This was last Friday, Dec 6th. I looked on Yelp and found a couple electricians, and Carlos was able to come the same afternoon! He was prompt, very professional, and friendly. The service call was reasonable - $165, plus a nominal $4 fee due to me using a credit card. He provided his own ladder and equipment, and also guaranteed his work. The job took only about 25 minutes. The porch light is secure, and I feel much better. Carlos did an awesome job, and I would highly recommend him for electrical jobs. He's awesome!
