I would highly recommend Van to get the job done. I called him to repair some old and faulty outlets in my apartment. He came on time, was very polite, and he was very knowledgable about the job. I was impressed that he was willing to come out for such a small job, knowing that my apartment is very old, and not a new home renovation or office building. He charged me a very reasonable price and takes pride in his work. Seems like he strives for customer satisfaction and willing to meet the homeowners needs. After a blackout, the lights in some rooms stopped working. Called Van. Very quick response to my call. He came out, found the problem and fixed it. Friendly service. And his being a fellow Na Alii was a bonus. Thanks, Van!

Great service!

I called this morning to see if I could get someone to my house to check the electrical backup for my solar water heater system. Got a call back within minutes of that request from Van, who proceeded to walk me through the process of resetting my thermostat and heater circuit. He even called me back a minute after hanging up, to clarify a step for me that he thought was important.

The resetting worked like a charm! A less scrupulous person could have fairly easily come out to my house and charged me for resetting the circuit, and maybe even adding on other things. Van's honesty and generosity has been noted, and I will use this company for all future electrical repair needs! I would recommend that others do the same.

One other note is that this process was in stark contrast to my experience with another company that I called earlier for the same problem because they are advertised as doing repairs on solar systems. I waited for more than a day for a call back from their technician, had to call them back to find out what happened, then was told that the technician was busy and would not be able to call me back for a month and a half!!

Had an outdoor floodlight problem I needed fixed before Thanksgiving. Called Van's on a Tuesday. He said he'd be there on Thursday. He was. The fixture was old and corroded. An unethical person would have said ""I've gotta replace the whole shebang."" Not Van. A pair of pointed pliers and a little this and that and the fixture works and I might even get another 40 years out of it! Thanks, Van!!!!!

This review is based on the fact that he never showed up. I spoke with him on Thursday 11/4/15 and he said he could not come that day, but could on Friday. I told him our store was open 8am-5pm and he could come by any time during those hours. He never showed, and never called, and here it is one week later and I still have not heard from him.

Van's business ethics could use some improvement and I'm glad I canceled a Solar AC installation with him. I cannot comment on his skill or knowledge but very disappointed with his dependability and trust. Return calls and scheduled visits were spotty and 2 1/2 months later I finally received my deposit refund. He also kept $200 for the contract cancellation for invoicing and credit card processing fee. The lowest part of his credibility occurred when he replied to my email after I inquired about the refund he was going to mail. It was never mailed and I finally met him in person to collect and he blamed his secretary for having other priorities. Honesty and integrity is not a strength and for the sake of his workers and the industry hopefully he'll improve on it.
