Frank is the best. Hands down. He is prompt, reliable and his work is second to none. We recently put can lights and multiple chandeliers/pendants throughout our home. Frank was very hands on when it came to making decisions on the location for switches, etc and had efficient ideas that I never thought of.

He was very professional, efficient, clearly communicated what was needed on our house. He showed up when he said would, worked hard, had helpful advice, and addressed all of our concerns. We had an electrical issue where several electrical outlets throughout the home did not work. I replaced every one of them and the 'bad' circuit breaker( cuz I AM A MAN!...and I can fix anything ....). Well, I screwed the pooch on this one and did not take my wife's advise and hire a pro. So I took what little dignity I had left and called several electrical contractors for bids and came across Van Don Electric. Frank(pretty sure that was his name) met my 3 most critical criteria ...1- price, 2- availability, 3- follow through.
This guy quoted me a great price - FREE....if he could not find the problem within an hour. He said he would come within a few hours(I said really?, it was 3pm on a Friday, I got other priorities at that time). So Van Don and his crew came over at 4:30pm, found the issue within 50 minutes(there goes my free pass), and were out the door 20 minutes later.
As for the follow up. It upset me when I had to get out of my recliner to answer the door, but, HERE IS VAN DON at the door, stopping by to see how things are going.
Crazy, this guy and business is great. Maybe other people are right, don't have him or anyone else screw in a light bulb......but I would highly recommend Van Don for any electrical issue.

I wish I could give this company no stars at all, but that is not possible on Yelp. Mr Van Don came out to my property to take a look at an outside light fitting that was not functioning. He screwed in a new light bulb and turned the light on. The light appeared to come on, which it would do sporadically anyway. A day after he left, the light fitment was not working again. It has not worked since. Oh - did I mention that he charged me $85 for screwing in that light bulb? I complained to BBB (another farce). They did nothing.

Mr. Van Don is an incredibly dishonest person. Anyone else would have refused to charge for this work when it was evident that it had failed, or they would have come back and completed a proper repair. After agreeing to come back, he refused to. Avoid him unless you like throwing your money away on shoddy work.

in the days before Yelp, we had to rely on the BBB. What most people don't realize is that the BBB is funded by the very companies that they are supposed to police. The BBB does not investigate complaints. They conduct a letter writing exercise. Even when the consumer is not satisfied with the outcome, that will be the end of the matter. The BBB does not provide a full listing of all the complaints on the BBB website that are received. For instance, you will not find a complaint against Van Don Electric on the BBB website, but I filed one.
