Unprofessional. Operates on his schedule without respect for others. No follow through on quote/proposal. Fortunately for me, these red flags presented before he started the job, so I can't speak to quality of work. I would not recommend.

DO NOT USE this company!!! We were referred to this company by our painter. The whole entire project was a night mare! The project involved adding chandelier in the formal living room and recessed lighting in all the master bedroom, master closet, and bathroom, formal dining room, family room and adding ceiling fan with light in all secondary bedrooms. They also added some bathroom fan/vent into our master shower. Mike also promised to pull permit for the job. The first week the project went very well. Then the worker only showed up once or twice a week. Then nobody would show up for the entire week. Mike, the owner, was very hard to get in touch with. My husband handles all the communication with the painter and this electrician but the electrician did not return the calls, text, or e-mails. The electrician also did not coordinate with our painter as to where he anticipated to make holes in the wall nor letting our painter know if they wouldn't show up. I had to step in and sent him an e-mail and gave him two options: to quit or complete the job. He finally completed the job but it was very difficult. The job was promised to take 3-4 weeks but ended up taking 8 weeks. Additionally, he wanted to change his quote when he was going to install the chandelier in our formal living room. He claimed that he doesn't have a ladder that would reach an 18 foot ceiling. He stated that he could do it but would have to charge extra for renting, assembling and disaseembling the scaffolding. We had to bite the cost of renting assembling and disassembling of the scaffolding since the electrician dropped the bomb on us 3-4 weeks into the job. He wouldn't show up and it was hard to commuincate with him and all of the sudden he cornered us to make a decision in renting the scaffolding or else he wouldn't do the job. Eventhough we argued that the estimate should have included his tool but the owner was so rude that we ended up having to rent and paid for all the extra fees just to get the job done. The owner also disappeared and sent us our final bills 3-4 months down the road. Since we are nice couples, we paid the remaining balance. We could have acted like a jerk and refused to pay but my husband and I believe in Karma-what goes around will come around. Lesson learned, NEVER use VALENCIA ELECTRIC.
UPDATE: my husband had to climb up into the attic for some insulation work. We found that Valencia electric added the vent hood into our shower stall without connecting proeper ventialtion pipe to the outside of our house. The moisture was basically blowing into our attic. They also piled our insulation onto one side of the ceiling without putting in back. We will call another electrician to inspect the job that he did. If this company did anything illegal or below standard, we will pursue with lawsuit and file a complaint with the city.

One star for price switching.
They told me over the phone they charged $85 an hour. The first time we used them (to turn off the power to a fried porch light and see why it was smoking) they did in fact charge me $85 for the job that was a little under an hour.
However when they showed up the second time to fix the new porch light they charged me by the job which ended up being double their hourly estimate. They charged me $125 for a 30 minute porch light job and in the same visit $250 for an hour and half long job of a wall light fixture. They also charged me $25 for an upgraded light switch even though it's only about $10 more than the other switch. When I argued multiple times about the price they told me the job was ""different"" then they thought it would be which is ridiculous since the job was exactly what I told them over the phone when I was told it would be $85 an hour. Also that excuse only works when a contractor charges by the job, not a company who claims to charge by the hour then switches on you. After asking multiple times about this price issue they brought the total down to $350 from the $400 bill they handed me. Since the total should have been around $200 including supplies I won't be using this company again. And if you choose to use them just be aware their $85 an hour estimate is more like $170 an hour.
