Wow, what great service!!!
I called USA Electric on Monday morning with a power outage at my office.
Needless to say how freaked out I was. All the employees phone lines were off due to the power and we were not able to communicate with our clients nor were they able to communicate with us.
USA Electric came promptly, diagnosed the problem and fixed it fast. Everyone was back to work in a jiffy.
USA Electric saved us time and money by being as attentive as they are (highly appreciated).

If you are looking for an efficient, prompt and affordable service, look no further!!

Gail, Kenny, and their entire team really know what they are doing. We had many electricians out to try and solve our problems, but no one could figure it out. Long review of the WORST company I have ever dealt with.

Long review - sorry.

I needed an electrician for a very simple job with a single outside electrical outlet. Looked up some Yelp reviews and selected USA Electric based on their reviews and the fact they had a $25 for $50 coupon. I will NEVER do that again.

Booked an appt for between 2pm and 4pm on a Thurs.

The dispatcher was very nice and called in the morning to confirm I would be there. I was.

They quoted an $49 estimate fee which would be applied to any work that would be done. Great.

I had already paid for a a $25 for a $50 coupon.

Then they didnt show up. Not at 2pm. Not at 4pm.
The company called at 4pm and said their electrician would be there in the next 30mins. He wasn't

Then I got a text at 4.46pm saying he would be there in an estimated 20mins and I could track his progress.

I couldn't.

I talked to the dispatcher and she said she would discount 15% for the lateness.

Then he finally showed up at 5.36pm. Ok cool. I'm a nice guy.

He was a decent guy and I was very nice to him.

He looked at the electrical outlet. It was very simple. Said the GFI needed to be changed. Then went back to his truck for 10mins on the phone. Not sure why he was on the phone for so long.

Came back and wanted me to sign an invoice on his iphone for $200!!!!!!!!
Where was the $49 applied to the work? Where was the $25 for $50 that I had already paid for the yelp coupon? Where was the 15% for being late? Nothing.

The $200 was a completely random number with no backup. Super shady.

I talked with the electrician who apologized and said there was a $250 minimum charge and he couldn't do anything about it although he admitted that the job would take 20-30mins.

What about the fact they said it was a $49 call out estimate that would be applied to the job? He was sheepish and said there was nothing he could do.

I told him it was unacceptable to charge a customer $200 for a 20min job to change out a GFI and by the way, where was the $25 discount for the yelp coupon or the $49 call out fee OR the 15% discount for being an hour and a half late?

When I was surprised at the invoice. He asked me ""how much do I want to pay""?

Seriously? How much do I want to pay???? This isn't a Turkish Bazzar? Just tell me your hourly rate and I will decide if it's reasonable. Doing electrical work isn't a ""negotiation"".

Like how much can I get from you?

He was sheepish again. It was a $75 job at most which I would have been more than happy to pay. I told him this was a rip off and he gave me his cell phone number if I wanted to go through him directly. I told him this was the worst service experience I have ever had in LA.

He left.

I then got the most aggressive call from the owner of the company - Kenny.

I tried to explain my situation but he wouldn't let me speak. I'm more than happy to pay a reasonable price for any job that I requested but this has to be the worst experience I have EVER had with any service company in LA in 30 years. All I needed was a simple outlet switched out. I paid my Yelp offer and was then ripped and scammed.

At the end of my call with Kenny he threatened me with lawyers and hung up on me.
Biggest rip off ever.

Be very very careful with this company in my opinion.

Shady - Shady- Shady.

Now looking for another electrician who can switch out a simple GFI.

Will be contacting the BBB and Yelp for a refund.

p.s Kenny has a phone that has No Caller ID. He said he didn't want customers calling him directly. What does that that say about customer service?
