Fergal and his co-worker Steven were great. Efficient and timely, they worked hard to get a series of hanging tracks and and an elaborate chandelier hung and working in a timely manner for the opening of my little jewelry space. The building we are in is very old and updating the electrical was tricky. All of the walls and the ceiling in the space are crooked so it was a trick to get everything to look and hang evenly. We were very particular about how everything was laid out and Steven was very patient with us. They always answered my calls and were to quick to address any additional requests. The pricing is very fair and we would definitely hire them again.

I've had the pleasure of using Urban Energy for nearly 3 years now on my 1926 Bernal Heights Home. As they were small electricial jobs that needed to be performed at my home, Fergal took care of them personally for me, as i made it clear i was very picky about the way things were done. He ran elctrical lines to new outlets for new light fixtures. He also performed a tricky exterior conduit line for my sensor lights and then split the line to the back of my garden for another electrical outlet and ext tree light fixtures. All performed in a timely manner and affordable cost. He was courteous, professional, punctual and overall knew what the hell he was talking about, when it came to electrical work and ideas on what to use and how to make it more efficient and most of all how it's presented. I say this, as i've been in high end construction for 18 years and have witnessesed which electricians are good and which electricians are not what that they seem, Fergal is a cut above the other high end contracters in SF. The way he has performed at my house and the referrals i've have given to his firm, he will no doubt be one of the top electrical guys in SF in the coming years.

We worked with Urban Energy on a series of electrical issues at our home in Potrero Hill in San Francisco and we plan on working with them again in the future. Their electricians go the extra mile to provide great technical work and excellent customer service. This team is capable of doing very complex, state of the art work and all the basics. We even needed some computing components to make something work in our house and they took the time to help us select and install the right devices. We also had a consistent point of contact, Fergal Mac Donnell, and we look forward to working with him whenever we have an appointment. I would recommend these electricians to people who have very complex jobs involving programming, wireless, etc. as well as basic jobs like putting in extra outlets in closets.

We recently hired Urban Energy to do some work for our small office, as the lighting hadn't been touched in ages. Upon my walkthrough with Fergal, he made excellent recommendations as to more efficient lighting and suggestions as to what we could do to maximize the lighting in our industrial loft space. The quote they provided was also extremely reasonable, and for our non-profit this was an extremely important factor.

When the crew arrived to start the job, they were professional, conscientious, and efficient. They got the job done in a reasonable amount of time and stayed very close to the quote. All of the guys who worked in our office were friendly but did not impede the work flow. We were very happy with their work and would absolutely call on them again for future lighting needs.

I called Urban Energy after experiencing power outages caused by an unwanted rodent. Turns out mice are a big fan of electrical wiring!!!

Being a bit of a D.I.Y enthusiast, I decided to try and carry out the work myself. Awful idea, and I ended up getting an unmerciful electrical shock for my troubles. Reluctantly, I decided it might be time to get a proper electrician. (Well my wife decided really.)

We called Fergal on the Thursday evening, and he arranged a time that suited us on the Saturday morning. In addition to the wiring job, he gave us a free estimate for an electrical dryer plug and the cost of installing a new kitchen fan.

When he was finished he explained why the mice chew on wires (they use the PVC to sharpen their teeth) and what we can do to prevent future incidents (ultrasonic units).

With my new-found electrical knowledge, maybe I'll be more successful with my future endeavors (unlikely though, knowing my wife). But if not, at least I have a new genuinely trustworthy electrician.

We recently bought a new apartment in the Financial District. As somebody who considers themselves pretty safety conscious, I just wasn't happy with the previous electricians work in our new place.
We got the guys in to upgrade and install a new electrical panel. We also put in dedicated circuits to prevent against any potential surges.)
Sure, we could have carried out the work cheaper with unlicensed electrician who isn't accountable, but that's a risk; and I don't gamble with electrical issues.
