INCOMPETENT and DISHONEST. First, they tried to cancel an appointment made 48 hours previously less than 15 minutes before the expiration of the time ""window"" they were to arrive. After much insistence on my part, they sent a technician within an hour who seemed rather put out and rude. After a brief inspection of my AC unit, I was informed that it was burned out, weather worn and the entire compressor had to be replaced at a cost of $4,700. I got a second opinion the following day and the solution was to replace the $35 capacitor. Total cost for two service calls and installing the capacitor...$300. Having my AC working again and not spending a small fortune...priceless!

WAAYYYY too expensive. Showed up at 2:15 for the 11-1 time slot. They should have said between 11:00 and Thursday........

I identified that the run / start capacitor had gone bad, and gave them the part number the day before, agreeing that this should be fixed in one visit.

When they got to my home, my wife was there to greet him, with me in the loop via phone 3 or 4 times. They quoted $450, after $ 100 discount. Why discount guys? Makes you look shady. $ 100 off DOES NOT take the sting out of $ 450.

Anyway, the wonderful wife said no way, that is a $ 35 part. Now $ 300, then $ 250, then $ 200. After they settle on $ 200, the tech asked my wife, ""are you guys in business or something?"" Obvious answer was yes.

Tech also shared that most people just pay the $ 450, and was shocked we knew better.

Frankly, I am shocked, after speaking with a manager on setting up the appointement. Shocked that he didnt pass on to the tech that I knew what was up, and not to try to screw us.

If he came in at $ 250 to start, I would have paid it, no questions asked, and would have gleefully written a 5 star review, because as I figure it, $ 35 part, they have to charge 95 for, as they have to mark up, and mark up to cover warranty, should the part fail. $ 100 to roll the truck, = close enough.

But dont try to screw us.......

Never again. Ironically, when I set up the appointment, the company represented itself as Poway Air Conditioning, which is who I THOUGHT I was hiring, not United Services, who has revenues of over $ 100 million dollars a year.

United came to estimate a complete Heat and Air HVAC replacement job. Also some bathroom plumbing work. I was told they would have an estimate for me in a day or two. I never heard back, ever. I called them 2 times over 3 days allowing for a weekend. The phone rep said he saw the visit logged, and would have someone call. No one did. This is seriously odd and seriously UNRELIABLE.

VERY EXPENSIVE! Came out to fix a pipe under kitchen sink. Said we needed new faucet. Asked for the cheapest since we are remodeling. They said even if we got the cheapest the repair costs $491. Got us a faucet that they say cost $150. Worked for 1 hr so I guess they charge $341 an hr for labor. Will not use them again.

United Plumbing, Heating, Air, Electric and I might add almost anything else you need done.
This company is first rate. I had a flood at my house in Oceanside. Just my good luck I had this company replace some gas lines. I saw the bill in my junk drawer and it said, they do Plumbing too. I was in a fix ,my bottom floor was under 2 inches of water. I called them and within 1/2 hour they where there.
At that point I basically walked away. They met with the insurance adjuster, they scheduled the work. I didn't have to worry.
I was concerned whether there expertise was in the build back, the answer was YES. Robert stepped right in and coordinated all the work.
They have first class professionals that brought everything back. Tile work (amazing), Granite, Cabinetry, the works.
The crew was on time and worked late, they cleaned up every night. They did everything they said they would do and didn't disappoint. I had updates almost daily on what to expect. A first class operation. The job was done in record time and every detail was attended to.
I might add, the price was fair and they went above and beyond even fixing a toilet in another part of the house, no charge.

I called these people and made an appointment for Friday, for which they didn't show or call. They called back on Monday about 8 p.m. and wanted to know if it would be O.K. to stop on by. I said ""No, it's too late."", so we set up an appointment for the following Thursday between 4 and 6 p.m. No call, no show - until about 7:30, when I got a lame call from their guy, saying he'd been stuck in an attic, and ""you know how it is, Bro"". Bye, bye, United.
