Tri County Electric Cooperative
Company Overview
I want to emphasize the numerous distinctions between our electric cooperative compared to for-profit utilities. It may surprise you that our members enjoy a genuine Bill of Rights which encompasses the right to access dependable, affordable, and safe electric power along with the right to unite to create and manage a non-profit electric utility. In our cooperative structure, each customer are afforded fair and equal consideration. This equitable treatment is made possible through the efforts of our management and team, but also by a Board of Trustees selected by our members. This represents the pinnacle of consumer security. Moreover, cooperatives operate under seven foundational principles that ensure just attention for consumers from the utility they support. These principles include equity, accessibility, member oversight, self-sufficiency, learning, training, and information sharing, along with cooperation between cooperatives that enables the benefits of united actions to be utilized for the benefit of the cooperatives. The concluding principle emphasizes community support. Though cooperatives always put members' interests first, they consistently work to improving the communities they support.
