Company Overview

First, it's important to note the various differences that set our cooperative apart compared to for-profit utilities. You might not know that our members are granted a genuine Bill of Rights which encompasses the right to access trustworthy, budget-friendly, and safe electrical service and the right to collaborate to establish and run a community-focused electric utility. Within a cooperative framework, each customer are afforded fair and equal consideration. This is accomplished not just by management and staff, but also through a Board of Trustees elected by the members. This exemplifies the highest standard of consumer protection. Additionally, cooperatives are guided by seven foundational principles which guarantee equitable treatment for members from the service they collectively own. These guiding principles consist of equity, accessibility, member oversight, self-sufficiency, learning, training, and information sharing, including cooperation between cooperatives which allows for the power of collective efforts to work towards the advantage of the cooperative community. The concluding principle centers on community welfare. While cooperatives prioritize, they remain dedicated to improving the communities they support.
