I did a quick search on Yelp for an electrician and contacted Tradesman Electrical to fit four ceiling fans in my home. I called the office number and spoke with Tom Snr., a very knowledgable and helpful man who took my details and promised to call me back after discussing the job with Tom Jnr., the owner of the company. Tom Snr. called me back promptly with a quote, a date and a time for the work. Then Tom Jnr. called me to ask if he could come a day earlier as they had an opening!
Tom arrived promptly at 7.30 am as promised, with an army of very attentive, polite, and hardworking young men who quickly prepped the areas after placing drop cloths and foot traffic mats. They completed the work swiftly and professionally with constant direction from Tom.
I would highly recommend these guys to anyone needing electrical work and I will certainly be calling them again.

I contacted Tom regarding getting canned lights installed in my living room and kitchen. Tom was extremely professional and answered all my questions. On the day of installation the crew arrived promptly. They took care to prep the work space - laid plastic on the floor, covered furniture and art work. The crew was extremely professional, courteous, and nice. I completely recommend Tom and his team. They are now my ""go to"" electricians. Thanks for the great work!

We had a problem with 4 outlets in two bathrooms. I called the Tradesman Electrician and they arrived in 30 minutes. They replaced an old GFI in the garage. They were done very quickly. I would use them again.

It is difficult to find a honest and quality service provider such as an electrician if you have no referrals to go by but I really felt good in choosing Tradesman Electrician. I am so glad that I did. Every aspect of the service went perfectly. a reasonable quote over the phone, an immediate appointment, great communications, showing up within the time period agreed to. Outstanding troubleshooting the problem we we had. Very friendly and knowledgeable technicians. The cost just as quoted not a penny more. They will always be my first call whenever I have a need for any electrical service.

We had them do work for us a few years ago...so take this with a grain of salt because I don't remember all of the details well. The work they did do was fine...maybe even good. I'm not an expert here so I can't say. What was done all looks nice though. We gave them some big jobs in our home and most of it was done. We also paid $500 or something like that for a map of some sort and all the outlets and the power to the different areas and never received it. There were other things that were never done as well that we paid for. There were also things that we would've paid for had he followed through with the things we asked him to do. I only write this review because we have a lot of work to be done again (some of which we already paid for to this company and wasn't completed) and I want to make certain I don't use this company again. The father was super nice on the phone...humble, salt of the earth nice. The son (the owner now I think) I'm sure is super nice (and probably just really busy) and I don't want to judge people but he just seems to me to talk a huge self-aggrandizing talk about himself and for a long time but then didn't apparently have time do do what he said he would do and what we paid him to do. I don't trust him much and will not have him return unless I had a big emergency and really couldn't find another company I liked better.

Tom Sheltraw, of The Tradesman Electric, is incompetent. He did over $5000 of electrical work during a remodel of our house that not only was shoddy, but it violated the California Electrical Code.

After having a legitimate electrician do the repairs, we sent a letter to The Tradesman Electric asking for a refund. In our letter, we cited to him the electrical code he violated. Since he ignored our letter, we filed a complaint with the California License Board. It was only after the License Board investigated the case and informed Tom Sheltraw that he had indeed violated the electrical code that he agreed to refund our money back.

If I could give this guy a negative rating, I would.

So very happy with the service and efficiency of Tradesman Electric. Sheila was quick to get back to me and get me on their schedule. Dennis and Carl showed up on time and completed the work, even with its unexpected complications. They were thorough, cleaned up perfectly and were professional and courteous. I will call them again for my future electrical needs. Can't recommend them highly enough!

Tom did an outstanding job! And not an easy one either: An expensive chandelier 11-ft up with 7 big glass globes hanging at different lengths from a heavy brass plate (see photo). He has a degree in interior design so he really knew how to do this right and he cares! Afterwards he flipped through his photos to show me some of the big installations and recent projects he's proud of. If you want your lighting project done right, call Tom!
