Terrible service. They'll kill you with kindness, but it's not worth it. There is no follow up as constantly promised, they are mos behind in sending you information for rebates that were promised to be within 3 wks of the work, they don't have their facts straight promising 50% savings on the power bill when in reality it's about 10-20% max, they are not careful when in your home...they caused damage to my floors then tried to say after 2 mos of promising to send someone by to fix it that they were going to have to make sure their people were the one's who in fact did the damage. What? How are you going to figure that? It's an insult. Seriously unhappy that we chose them for our work. They are not to be trusted and I would save yourself a lot of frustration and go with another company.
I would not recommend Total Quality Services. I paid $179 to have twice a year routine maintenance on the A/C unit of my rental property. On the service tech's first visit, he exhibited highly unprofessional behavior to the condo concierge and was ultimately asked to leave the premises before he could do any work on my A/C unit.
I instructed the company ahead of time that parking was free for first hour and there would be a minimal charge each additional hour at the time I scheduled the visit. However, the service tech tried to insist with the concierge that they provide some sort of free parking or allow him to park in the loading dock. When they refused, he got belligerent and rude. The service tech also refused to show his photo Id to the concierge in order to get a key to go up to the unit, again got loud, argumentative, rude, and belligerent. He told the concierge to ""shut up"" and give him the keys. Needless to say, he was asked to leave premises. After the unprofessional service they exhibited, I cancelled my contract and got a refund.
The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. They do not honor their appointments nor do they honor their contracts. You should stay far away from this company.
Trust me, stay away from this place. They damaged my A/C unit and I had to pay someone else to fix it as they denied all responsibility, even after the technician told me the last guy who worked on it messed up. There is not enough space available here to detail the horrible experience I have had with this place. Thank god I called Cool Ray. Now they are a great company!
I first used TQS via my Home Warranty company when my A/C went out about 8 years ago. Since then, I've never gone an entire year without an A/C problem.
Why did I make the mistake of continuing to use them?
1. Their people are very nice. No way around it, their technicians and managers and everyone I've dealt with (which is a lot of folks given all the problems I had) were very nice.
2. I didn't want to pay someone else to fix their mistakes.
3. At one point, thanks to so many problems, they installed a completely new A/C system for me at cost of materials - air handler, compressor, everything. Saved me probably 75% off what I would have normally paid. And when it kept having problems, I kept thinking it was either under warranty or they knew the system already so it would make sense to have them come back. But I'm still having problems with it.
Anyhow, after my A/C went out again 2 nights ago (after TQS came out 5 different times over 2 weeks a few months ago to fix it) I decided to go with a different company. And they found the problem, and fixed it quickly.
Over the years, it was just a comedy of errors. And they're very nice about fixing their mistakes. But the mistakes happen almost every visit. It took me a lot longer than it should have to realize the problem was more than just me being unlucky.
Bottom line - TQS has very nice people. But they're just not good at what they do. I thought about giving them 2 stars because they're nice, but then I realized if a friend asked me to recommend an A/C company, my response would be ""I don't know that I have one to recommend, but whatever you do, DO NOT call Total Quality Services."" Not sure how I can give that opinion 2 stars.
This company sucks so bad they don't deserve one star. They've stood me up the first time claiming the technician had a death in the family. He told me no one died. That was followed by the appointment to diagnose the problem, followed by two more stand-ups, where they claim the technician went to pick up the parts but they weren't there at the supply house. Twice??? You can't call that morning to confirm the parts are in before you have the customer stay home from work to be there for a repair that doesn't happen?? Really?? So it is now 4-days off of work to be home for a simple repair that still has not happened. And if that's not bad enough, they put you on hold for over 5-minutes while you listen to their same, syrupy sweet looped commercials staying how great they are at quality and service. Really??? Give me a break. Give yourself a break and don't call them or believe that there is any quality in their service... much less ""total"".
These folks are great. I've used them off and on for the past 10 years. They're always friendly and courteous. Recently I had a problem with my unit where the capacitor went out. They came out and fixed the problem on short notice at a very reasonable rate. I definitely recommend them.
Around Dec. 10, 2010 I called my home warranty company AHS (American Home Shield) with a need for my heating system to be fixed.
AHS contracted with Total Quality Services (TQS) to fix our heat. TQS gave us a service time window and showed up 3+ hours later after 10pm! Next day still no heat! Over the next 3 days- 4 days TQS came to our home 2 more times, gave excuses about why they had to put other service calls before us and still coming 3+ hours after the promised time and still we sat in a COLD house!!
Finally I had to call AHS and escalate the call and was allowed to find a different contractor to help us
Today Dec. 19, 2010 ""Veasey Total Completion"" fixed the issue in 30 minutes and found mistakes that TQS made.
For example, TQS improperly wired the thermostat so on the coldest days in Atlanta our heating system blew out COLD air since it was wired for the system to run on FAN setting!
