As a certified electrician-problem-solver with a goal: Success is delivering top-notch support & exceptional workmanship in harmony with the ethic of respect.
Raised in the San Francisco, I gained knowledge in power work through the family business & by 16, I was a home specialist, fixing & deploying residential systems. Attending school at UC (Economics), I worked part-time as an electrical specialist, before founding my business, Tim's Electric City SF in 1988.
I’ve gained insights from different backgrounds & individuals, traveling in remote areas in over 50 locations. Just like me, nearly every individual everywhere cherishes health & wealth for their household, their community & their environment. I apply this knowledge to my craft.
I love good friends, my dog who is named Pumpkin, listening to music, moving to music, Burning Man, underwater exploration, wave riding, birding, Spanish, technology & tackling electrical problems for clients.

I called Tim after contacting another electrician who couldn't come until the next day. And was so happy I did. Tim arranged to come the same day, explained to me why I had lost power in 2 rooms in my condo, and was able to fix the problem quickly.
Tim is such a nice guy, so willing to answer questions and go the extra mile. He has that hometown, good neighbor personality on top of being a great electrician. I'm recommending him to my HOA and all my friends.
These guys saved the day!
I am the chief engineer at a boutique hotel in Union Square, San Francisco. I recently had a subpanel completely fail. The equipment connected to it ran the 4 star restaurant on site. With much chagrin I had to close our restaurant down. Tim Pearson Electric was at my hotel within an hour. Tim identified the problem, collected the necessary parts and was on the job within two hours. Tim and Niel work tirelessly through the night. These gentlemen know their stuff. Tim not only had me up and readyfor dinner the next day, but kept me informed evey step of the way. Niel was the man at clearing each hurdle that arrised due to working in a very old hotel with little to no room and an extreme time schedule.
In a nut shell these guys handled business qick and clean. Cleared thier schedule and made my retsuarant the #1 priority until we were happy. Whether you find yourself needing a brand new panel, or a light fixture installed in your new kitchen, TIM PEARSON ELECTRIC is the crew to call. You won't be disappointed!
Christopher D.I was trying to install a dimmer switch in my new (very old!) Victorian flat, and I messed it up. There was a smokey ""pop"" and I thought, ""Crap. I'm going to burn the house down."" I called five or six places, only got voice mail; it was hard to find an electrician on such short notice. But Tim himself answered when I called his business, and he was able to come right over. He was polite and kind and even gave me a mini-lesson on wiring! I love this guy.
Called Tim on Tuesday to arrange for him to come on Friday. Lot's of noise from TV in background so he asked me to text my number and address and he would contact me Fri AM to let me know what time he would be here. I told him I was available from 10 am until 3:30 PM. Sent a text at 10 AM today (Fri) to let him know I was here and asked him to let me know when he was planning on coming. Texted again an hour Called a couple hours later when no response. Texted him an hour later and still no response. It is now 3:30 and I have to leave. Very unprofessional. I told him I contacted him solely because of the great YELP reviews. Guess that was a mistake!
Tim is Great!
He gets there and gets the job done right. Would highly recommend him!
Initially I asked Tim to upgrade a 120v circuit to a 240v circuit. In doing that he uncovered other issues with the existing electrical and was able to explain the implications of these to allow us to prioritize which should be corrected and which we should just be aware of. He was punctual, knowledgable and reasonably priced given the time spent making decades old wiring safer. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.
William M.What a great guy. And he really knows his stuff.
I had a couple of electrical things I needed done: new Nest thermostat and help with my electric beds.
He came by, took a look at the controls for the beds and did what he could to repair the wiring. Part of the bed worked, a vast improvement. He said he'd look into it and get in touch w/ me later.
A week later comes a call from him and not good news about controls. He arranges to come back and do what he can and install the thermostat. A bit later than expected he arrives, does what he can for the bed and then quickly install the Nest. Wow, fast, clean work and a very good price for two trips and lots of work.
The absolute worst experience that I had with a contractor. He was messy, unprofessional, and dishonest. I would not recommend him to my worst enemy. Hopefully, yelp won't take this down, but he is awful.
Tiffany L.Comment to Tim Pearson's Comment:
Wow, now I'm in true disbelief. It's one thing to take a client's review as lessons' learned, but it's another to denounce them. Great customer service? Also, to clarify, I was in HI for work, not for vacation; as hard as it was for them to believe, yes, I have an amazing job that sends me to Hawaii for work. Amazing that I have to justify this- though I'm not seeing how that is relevant to any of the points made. Business travel do come up and if they are that inflexible to work with client's schedule, think twice is my recommendation.
I called around to a few Yelp suggested electricians. Tim called back in about 15 minutes and was able to solve the problem over the phone. I offered to send him payment for his time but he refused to take it as the job was so simple. So there you have it - amazing service and integrity to boot! Highly recommended.
