Tim is Great!
He gets there and gets the job done right. Would highly recommend him!

Initially I asked Tim to upgrade a 120v circuit to a 240v circuit. In doing that he uncovered other issues with the existing electrical and was able to explain the implications of these to allow us to prioritize which should be corrected and which we should just be aware of. He was punctual, knowledgable and reasonably priced given the time spent making decades old wiring safer. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

What a great guy. And he really knows his stuff.
I had a couple of electrical things I needed done: new Nest thermostat and help with my electric beds.
He came by, took a look at the controls for the beds and did what he could to repair the wiring. Part of the bed worked, a vast improvement. He said he'd look into it and get in touch w/ me later.
A week later comes a call from him and not good news about controls. He arranges to come back and do what he can and install the thermostat. A bit later than expected he arrives, does what he can for the bed and then quickly install the Nest. Wow, fast, clean work and a very good price for two trips and lots of work.

The absolute worst experience that I had with a contractor. He was messy, unprofessional, and dishonest. I would not recommend him to my worst enemy. Hopefully, yelp won't take this down, but he is awful.

Comment to Tim Pearson's Comment:
Wow, now I'm in true disbelief. It's one thing to take a client's review as lessons' learned, but it's another to denounce them. Great customer service? Also, to clarify, I was in HI for work, not for vacation; as hard as it was for them to believe, yes, I have an amazing job that sends me to Hawaii for work. Amazing that I have to justify this- though I'm not seeing how that is relevant to any of the points made. Business travel do come up and if they are that inflexible to work with client's schedule, think twice is my recommendation.

I called around to a few Yelp suggested electricians. Tim called back in about 15 minutes and was able to solve the problem over the phone. I offered to send him payment for his time but he refused to take it as the job was so simple. So there you have it - amazing service and integrity to boot! Highly recommended.

I am sick to my stomach. I expect that Tim passes everyone off to Neil because it's likely Neil has a bad rating here. My experience was a disaster. He was completely unprofessional, he smelled like a homeless man and I wouldn't have been able to tell him from one on the street. I was scared to have him in my home. He carelessly walks into the backyard where it's completely muddy, steps on the neighbors plants and doesn't think about wiping his dirty shoes off before walking on my beige carpets. He spent 30 minutes trying to solve a problem I didn't ask him to solve before I just didn't care anymore. I expect any positive ratings are from family and friends. He also wouldn't produce a license or business card. Buyer Beware!

Tim is a first class expert. I've hired and fired a lot of contractors. Considering the consequences of bad electrical work, you want to make sure the person you have working on your power grid has the knowledge and skills to spot potential problems and avoid costly errors. He has done some tremendous jobs including entire comercial buildings yet he is just as diligent with the small stuff.
He is always the first person I call to get a straight answer on an electrical issue. He knows what he is doing, he fulfills on his promises, and really cares about making sure the job is done right. Obviously I would recommend him wholeheartedly.

i didn't even know how good it could be - who knew a dimmer in my dining room could add such Ambiance?
who knew a light in that closet where i attempted (in the dark) to store my DVDs could (well, really) be useful if i could actually SEE?
Tim and Neil, (et al) - are wonderful: suggestions, reasonable pricing, follow thru - all good.
____
i just wanted to add that they also go by ""Electric City SF""
as in:
[email protected]
i have had them re-route ports for my computer, fix / replace my ceiling fan / light, put several lights in closets and do some safety stuff - all at really reasonable prices.
HIGHLY recommended.
cheers!

I needed two houses' worth of doorbells and door releases fixed and found Tim by Yelp'ing. Thanks, reviewers. He was very attentive and patient over the phone. He sent Neil out, who is equally patient and kind. It's been a great experience all around. They were even willing to work with our landlord's budget. Thanks Tim and Neil!
