Jon was super helpful with the reflooring of my garage. He was easy to contact and setting up a time was a breeze. When I told him about what I wanted to do he gave a lot of insightful suggestions that helped me better understand what he would be doing. He also pointed out observations of my house that I did not notice before and this helped better understand the history of my house. Overall, very knowledgable and dedicated to the job. Obviously, Jon is someone who takes a lot of pride in his job and doing it right. Highly recommended!

Jon was really easy to contact and arrange a time with - I'm sure he thought this job sounded pretty simple. I had a couple of outside security lights to change out and one security light that I knew would be a challenge due to where it is and how high it is.
Jon showed up on time and assessed the job - we talked about the possibility of some timers, and he made a quick Home Depot run. Then Jon found some of the quirky things about this house and the wiring. It took a few hours but I now have all of the outside lights working and I couldn't be happier. This job was more complicated than my description - Jon works really hard and his prices are very reasonable. He cleaned up his work and more - We had a windstorm earlier this week that left leaves everywhere - Jon left my yard cleaner than it was when he got there!
I would highly recommend Jon and his company - he is definitely The Thinking Man's Handyman. Thanks so much Jon.

He was able to respond quickly to an urgent job I needed completed the same day. He was easy to communicate with, provided a reasonable (and accurate) estimate and the fence he secured and rebuilt for me is a testament to his quality work.

Last week, someone crashed a car into my driveway gates, ripping one of the gates fully off the hinges. I needed it to be fixed quickly, but the first handyman I called was vague on how long it would take him to complete the job. The second handyman I contacted never showed up. Then, proving the old saying,""the third time's the charm,"" along came Jon.

Not only did Jon show up when he said he was going to the following day, he also called me to confirm that he was coming. He was able to size up the project and what it would entail right away, and was sensitive to my time constraints, going so far as to work in the rain to make sure the job was completed on time. He was pleasant to deal with, his rates were fair, and most important of all, he performed quality work. I will definitely be hiring him again.

Jon did an amazing job on a project many were not willing to take on. We have very old windows in our 1927-built house and the casings were rotting out. Because the windows were not tempered he had to take great care when removing the wood which meant no power tools--they would have shattered the glass. He had to dig out the rotting wood with simple hand tools while taking care to not break this 8'x10' window! He did it patiently and methodically and saved our window. He then had to have a special piece of wood milled to fit under the window for the new casing. He knew where to go, who to talk to, and how to proceed in order to fix what we had been told would be unfixable. He also removed the old security bars and the window is now the crowning jewel of our house...not the rotting eyesore that it was. We are so grateful!

I found Jonathan during the holidays ... Between Xmas and New years ... A pipe burst inside my storage space in my house! Water everywhere, and I could not find anyone to help! I had to turn off all the water to the house until this could be fixed. He was a referral from a referral from a referral ... one of those crazy stressed out things. He arrived and diagnosed the problem. It took him 2 days to fix it because the leak was inside a wall, and jammed in super close to other pipes, SO hard to get to! He had to saw out the damaged pipe, and replace it with a blow torch! DIFFICULT - WET & DIRTY! He persevered, and got it done. In the end he charged me about half what a plumber would have charged. Much less than I expected. It's been 2 months now (I waited to see if problems would return) and all is working well! A good man ... A GOOD JOB! I highly recommend him.

Jon just completed several jobs for me - - from big (bracing our wobbly deck) to small (patching wear-and-tear holes on interior walls). He was on time and professional, but he also went above and beyond. He was great with our dog and kind to our son, who has special needs. I highly recommend Jon and look forward to hiring him again.

I had a long list of jobs and John was able to check off everything after 2 days. He even offered to come back and install a part that I have to order. Very reasonable rates, dog-friendly, people friendly and very good work. Highly recommend.

I'm disappointed by my interaction with Jon.

We made an appointment, and when he didn't show up, I realized I hadn't texted him my address. But after doing so, he asked to change the appointment time. Since we had previously exchanged text messages, he could have easiliy asked me for my address prior to the appointment.

This gave me a pretty bad feeling about working with him, so I let him know later wasn't ok and that I was cancelling the appointment. He called me to find out why and admitted he had overslept.

Perhaps this was an off day for Jon, but between this experience and initially speaking on the phone with him where he told me he was driving and texting and looking at his phone at the same time made me unconfident in hiring him. It seems like people are very happy with him, but I'm a person who really wants to work with people who are buttoned up in all aspects of their business.

Edit: Just received an text message from Jon. Upset with this replied he replied with a tone of, ""Oh, you're gonna be like that?"" saying he overslept because he had an emergency call at 4:30AM. He had multiple opportunities to mention this to me through text and also our phone conversation. He never once mentioned this emergency call which leads me to be extremely dubious of his claim.

Again, I haven't experienced or seen his work, but I didn't appreciate his tone nor his excuses.
