I have been looking for quite some time for assistance with a backyard lighting project. I called Brendan for a quote and he came out immediately. After reviewing everything I booked him for the job. Even in this crazy weather Brendan and his team got the job done in 2 days! These guys did an amazing job hanging string lights throughout the entire backyard. My backyard has went through a complete transformation with just the light additions! Thank you so much Light Guys! Looking forward to doing more work with you all.

I really enjoyed our conversation. BREN-den KAW-linz was personable and funny. He was able to provide me with a free estimate from pictures of my home. This guy is a gem.

I bought a chandelier on eBay and one of the sockets was dead. I called The Light Guys and they were more than happy to do a small job and fix it for me. Salvador came and loved dogs and was really sweet with them and was kind, courteous, and a damn good lighting electrician. He was done in minutes and looked happy at work. I would not hesitate to call them again or refer them to anyone. It was a pleasure doing business with this small business who cares about and hires happy employees!

The Light Guys did a great job installing string lighting in my backyard. I had my string lights set up within one week from my first consultation. They did a great job concealing any excess wires, securing the lights, and they were able to set it up with an alumawood patio.

Quick, easy, convenient, and exactly what I was looking for. No more getting up on a ladder to put lights up for me. If you're busy like I am, call the lights guys.

I wrote a review on 7/21 thanking Brendan for his first job in putting string lights up. It really looks great and was exactly what I was looking for.

So I really didn't worry when I asked Brendan to add to our sound system and when I asked about about replacing two old small flood light Brendan's recommendation was an LED light. Issue is I just trusted him and went on, which now I absolutely regret.

Brendan charged me $1500 to install what ended up to be a STADIUM size light. Basically, about 900 times brighter then the small light wanted replaced. I never was told the size of the light just shown some pictures of peoples backyards with color lighting.
My yard is not at all big enough for a light that belongs in a ballpark. We've had to move the light now 3 times due to neighbors complaints on how it bleeds into their yard through the trees due to how bright it is. Which brings me to my current situation where now my side neighbors are complaining of its position.
Instead of making Brendan take back the light I tried to make the best of the situation and tried and place it where we can use it. When I reached out to Brendan he wanted $200 to unscrew it and move it 3 ft. Blown away that Brendan didn't realize on his own he's reason why I have this light that I'm now stuck with and absolutely regret getting but what do I do now that its been two months. My handyman is charging me $80 to now move the light.

But what, there's more....

I have two outdoor speakers that are hardwired and I simply wanted to extend with another set of two speakers. Brendan, said no to hardwiring and recommend I get Sonos wireless amp & with the two new speaker go wireless. However when we did install the amp it wasn't working like how I wanted and he said we could ""easily do"". Sound was weird and it was really hand to operate to get the 4 speakers outside to work the way I asked..
Then Brendan recommend another piece of equipment to extend my stereo receiver so it could connect to the wireless amp and that way I can control better and get the end result that I needed. This is the point I realize that Brendan only sells the equipment and is no way an ""expert"" like he acts. When trying to get all this to work the way I needed it to (have already spent another $1500 on the speakers, amp and work to connect plus another $500 to get and connect the component to my receiver) Brendan literally told me ""usually this stuff works but I don't know I was just pressing buttons to see if it would work""... yes, he said that.
So when that still didn't work, he then started saying that I needed a better, way more expensive receiver to accomplish what I want. So, apparently it's my fault for not getting the right receiver even though the one I have is very popular and top of the line.
I then spoke to an actual audio installation expert (ironically someone Brendan had recommend) and he told me the same thing about needing another type of receiver that was around $900 more than the one I already had. I then asked what I asked Brendan before we started this little nightmare that lasted 2 weeks, I asked what if we just hardwire the two new speakers to the old two speaker so they act as one and he said ""absolutely that would work"" and funny thing that's exactly what we did and boom it works EXACTLY the way I needed so I could have Music outside and have the inside separate if I wanted.
All I needed was for Brendan to either look at my system first which he never did, layer that with he's insistence to do it his way only to find out his way especially with audio is based on both ignorance which admitted too and his arrogance in his thinking that he knows what he's doing.
After we did a simple hardwire and realized we weren't needing the $500 amp plus what I paid for the work that was needed to install the amp I didn't need, Brendan was simply going to take the amp back. Nothing about a refund on the equipment I didn't need nor the cost of the work for the installation of the equipment I didn't need. I had to ask him what he thought he was doing just taking back the amp with no offer of a refund. He looked confused that I was asking about it. He even insulted me I front of his Eletricrian and told me rather loudly so my neighbors could hear that he hadn't seen a penny from me and didn't understand why I was upset... About 2 mins later showed him the almost $9,000 that I had paid him already. This guy has ZERO customer service ability. Of course, he realized then I had paid him already. He CONSTANTLY assumes he knows best.
Brendan is just a guy that sells equipment. The great work which was done if I had wanted what he sold, is done by a couple of guys that work for him and they do a great job. Unfortunately their wagon is tied to a guy that doesn't do any work just points and tells them what to. Which I get if you're the boss and they work but ""usually this stuff works but I don't know I was just pressing buttons"" should never be the case.
