TL;DR: If you're looking for a house re-wire, The Electric Connection should be your first choice.

Full review: We recently purchased a new home that needed a complete re-write. Built in 1968, most of the wiring was aluminum which is considered a fire hazard and requires extra care. While there are mitigation strategies for aluminum wiring, those are just band-aids. The only real solution is to do the re-wire.

I reached out to over ten electricians with experience with re-wires. I submitted to each a proposal detailing the project, which included a service panel upgrade (100 to 200 amps). Most electricians didn't bother to respond, but among the few that did, the Electric Connection stood out because it was Kim, the owner of the company, that called me to discuss the project in detail.

After getting approval from SCE to upgrade the panel, Hugo came out with an assistant to go through the entire house to capture a detailed list of work to be performed. While the quote was not the lowest I received, I felt that The Electric Connection was the right choice for this difficult project.

The Electric Connection took care of filing for permits from the city, and after the permit was approved, the work commenced with electrician Jose leading the work. On any particular day, he had one or more assistants with him depending on the work that day. The work took over two weeks, it required spending a lot of time in a cramped attic and opening up nearly every wall to run new wiring. Everything was done with professionalism. Jose was outstanding and went beyond expectations to deliver everything I wanted for our dream house. Jose and his team did rough patches for the holes they created, saving a lot of time and effort for the painters.

The final step was city inspection and not surprisingly, it easily passed, the city inspector seemed impressed by the quality of the work. And on the last day, Antonio came out to patch up the stucco surrounding the service panel.

So thank you to Kim, Hugo, Jose, Fabio, Antonio, and all the team members that contributed to this project. While it was a long process, in the end it was worth it. This house wiring is now safe and ready to perform for the next 50+ years.

Professional, fast and on time! I got a quote to have my Tesla wall charger installed in my garage, not only the quote was cheaper than any other quotes I received but it ended up being even cheaper after the electrician evaluate that the job would be easier for him to do when he saw it in person. I was impressed by the level of efficiency and professionalism of their whole staff.

Omar (and someone else whose name I didn't get) repaired some broken lights at our buildings and also a broken outlet. Hugo who came to the property to give their estimate was great and answered by emails in a timely fashion and gave me all the info. I asked for.

Their quotes were not the lowest, but they do quality work and know what they are doing. Happy to have electricians we can trust and contact in the future.
