Chris is undoubtedly one of the finest, most honest contractors I have ever hired. Just finished a lighting project (2nd one he's done for me, and not the last) for 3 rooms in my home and I could not be happier with the results.
Top-notch job by Chris and Caesar, they cleaned up at the end of every day, were very consultative while designing the layouts, explaining everything along the way.
And to top it all off, Chris is extremely fair, always sticking to the price that he has given me, even if it costs him. He's an overall great guy!
I love my new lighting!

Chris was amazing at listening to our needs, offering suggestions and working within our budget. He kept all his commitments to our job timeline and even came out on the weekend when we needed the extra help during our remodel. We are thrilled with his style of using light to enhance our experience of our new Kitchen, Great Room and Bath. We are getting ready to add 500sf master suite and look forward to seeing what Chris will recommend for this space. I can count on him to have great ideas.

Based on our previous great experience using The Circuit Doctor on a large renovation project (previously reviewed), we contacted Chris to help us with a rather small project - installing underground outdoor lighting in our garden.
The small scope of work was not an obstacle. He met with us, reviewed the design plans discussed some ideas and left with a promise to get back to us. Ahead of schedule, he was back to us with a color-coded set of plans on how to best meet our needs. The price was fair, he handled the permitting, did the installation, and managed all the City inspections. Clean work, fast, efficient and friendly. He also spent time on helping me configure the low voltage wiring that we were installing ourselves.
We couldn't have asked for more. He keeps his word and his schedule and does exactly what he promises! You really can't ask for any more.

Earlier in my career, I ran a construction company so I've worked with many subcontractors. Based on my experience with Chris and his team, they rank near or at the top.
Chris is a very organized guy and he runs an efficient operation. He shows up when he says he will show up, and he'll do what he says he's going to do.
The Circuit Doctor rewired a two bedroom flat that we were renovating. This required a complete upgrade of the electrical service to the building, working with PG&E, sidewalk trenching, a new kitchen, etc.
Since we are new to this area, he recommended where to go to find light fixtures at the right price. We had everything that he needed so when he was onsite, his team worked fast.
As to quality, you'll rarely see electricians using a level to insure that the conduit in the basement was level. Chris did! Chris is attentive to the details, down to using a labeling machine on each of the electric panels.
He's knowledgeable, highly competent and very direct. He's pleasant to work with but he's all business. His communication skills are very good and he takes the time to explain issues that come up such as some of the peculiar (and goofy) building codes that are rare outside of SF.
Chris is not a low budget operation and you will pay a fair price for his professionalism. It's worth it! The job gets done the right way, the first time, on budget, on time, and there is no cutting corners.
If I had another project, he'd be one of the first people I would call.

I hired Chris to add a power outlet and some light switches in my garage. The job took much longer than expected due to several unexpected difficulties he and his crew encountered. The problems, we eventually discovered, were due mainly to the fact that some of the wiring they initially used turned out to be defective. Despite the technical hiccups, I was extremely pleased and impressed with Chris and his crew and with the end result. I would not hesitate to hire them again for another job.
Here's why:
(a) We discovered Friday evening after the work had been done and Chris' electrician had left, that our garage lights sporadically no longer worked. We called Chris to see if we could get it rectified first thing Monday morning but, instead, he sent his electrician back over on a Friday night at 8 pm to address it, because he didn't want us to have any safety issues over the weekend getting in and out of the garage without lights. So his electrician, Thomas, left his family and came over on Friday night and stayed several hours - probably until 10:30 pm - to get it fixed. How's that for customer service? And Chris personally came over to our house after the weekend to check up on us; he personally spent a considerable amount of time re-checking the wiring job just to make sure nothing further was amiss.
(b) In addition to Chris' and Thomas' commitment to getting the job done right and to immediately - and without question - fixing the glitches, there was the cost. The job ended up taking much longer than expected and yet Chris stuck to his original contract price, and wouldn't allow me to chip in more for the added effort.
Bottom line: these guys are very much on the up-and-up, reasonably priced, conscientious and extremely nice to work with.
