Had been messaging back and forth multiple times he came to my residence twice to take measurements for a small project; some custom cabinets and floating shelves. Quoted me about $600 and said he could finish before Christmas, starting October 30th 2021. I thought this would include everything but he called me once he started the project saying he had most of the materials but needed some wood from Home Depot so I agreed to buy and it was $91 and then a couple days go by and he says he needs some more wood. I declined asking if this would be covered in the $600 then; because it would now be around $800. He said he would pay for the Second wood himself so right now total is i would've owed him $600 when he finishes but I paid $91 for wood. We're talking on and off about project till November 26th. I want to get ahead and plan a date when he thinks he can install. He says that he could install custom cabinets and floating shelves before Christmas. We set a date for the first weekend of December 2021, we wanted this project done before my wife gave birth to our child due December 27th. Well he doesn't show up and I message him multiple times and get no response. I eventually decide to try and do it myself and I messaged him December 20th letting him know his services are no longer required and I would like my $91 back or I would leave a negative Yelp review. He finally responds saying his month has been crazy and the wood warped and I understand stuff can happen but he needs to update his clients. Not ghost them. Very unreliable on timing. I would only hire this service if you had a lot of time and didn't mind them coming at random times. He's very nice when talking in person just I had an unfortunate experience and I don't think I'll get my $91 back.

Not finished. Missing materials I paid for. Nice guy but is unreliable. He does not show up at the time he says he will pass by. Does not respond to texts. He said it will be done in one week. It's been 3 weeks because he shows up when he wants to show up. Not considering our time when we are available. So when he says he will show up, I missed my child's basketball games to accommodate him but he doesn't even show up on time. He asked for his last payment because he said it took longer than expected. And hasn't returned any of my texts. I didn't want to pay until he is done because I was afraid he wasn't going to show up. Well, just as I suspected, he hasn't responded.

I hired this place to replace a broken toilet flange. The guy they sent showed up in slides and socks, not exactly what you want to wear while working on a toilet. Then he tried to replace the wax ring on the toilet and I had to explain to him the difference between a wax ring and a toilet flange. I asked him to leave. A real plumber cost more but they get the job done right and they won't show up in pajamas.

Tall Guy Renovations is great! Needed help with home repairs to our condo we were putting up for sale and they were recommended. Dennis was fast in response, on time, and the work came out great. We are now hiring him to help with updates to our new home.

After several attempts to find someone to install a ""Brilliant Smart Home Control"" panel, and to add Ethernet outlets to a couple rooms in my home, I received a response from Tall Guys Renovation. He showed up the first day and attempted to install the Brilliant Smart Home Control, but was unable to make it work. I asked him just remove and reinstall the switch which was previously in place. He did that, but then the switch no longer functioned as it previously had. I let him know, and he insisted that is was re-installed the same way. Rather than spend time arguing, I let him get on with installing the Ethernet. He proceeded to drill several holes in my ceiling and walls, then run cable (which now hangs down from holes in my ceiling), and then left with a promise to return the following week to complete the project. He asked if I could pay him for the work that he'd completed, which came to about $500 dollars, then left and never returned.

I ended up pulling the switch he had re-installed and found he connected the wiring incorrectly. I corrected the wiring and the switch now functions as normal. Haven't done anything about the holes in my walls and ceiling, but I have contacted another 'licensed' electrician who is scheduled to come out and provide an estimate to complete the project.

I would have liked to recommend this company, but unfortunately I cannot.

I had contacted another website for a handyman to install 2 ceiling fans. Tall Guys responded (my name had been given by the other website to more people than I had contacted). His quote was what I was looking for, we made a date, he didn't come that date, but did call and rescheduled. He came the second time as planned and installed 1 fan. It didn't work, as it was after 5pm on a Friday, he stated he would return Monday at 9am to finish the job. He stated that he would have to inspect our wiring and it would take more time. We never heard from him again. All texts, phone calls and emails were not answered. After a week we contacted an electrician, who was more expensive, but had both fans installed and working in less than an hour. The fan that hadn't worked, had not been properly hooked up, as well as one blade had not been tightened so if the fan had worked the blade would have flown off.
The Tall Guy, Dennis, was very nice. I don't know if he was having a bad week or what. But it has been over two weeks as I write this and we still have not heard from him. We are not out any money, he did not ask for money up front. Maybe he got a better paying gig.
