It has been several years since our kitchen remodel and we noticed a very strange pattern that looked like a spider web forming on all of our cabinet doors. Mark came out and after some research determined there was a product application issue. He took all the doors and drawers impacted by this and redid all off them which was a significant amount of time and effort on his part. He did not charge for this. Mark truly stands by his work and he has clearly demonstrated this starting from the project itself through to resolving defects that have occurred after the project completed. We continue to highly recommend Mark.

I wanted to share with everyone my experience with Mark. Because he couldn't do a color sample before I had paid in full up front (nonrefundable), I asked for photos of his work showing the reclaimed wood/driftwood look from my bathroom vanity sample photo. I also asked if there are any quality guarantees for his work. Below is my original message and his response. If he treats prospective clients this way, I'm glad I'll never know how he treats his current clients when he already has your money.

My Question:
I am bummed to hear that the samples aren't free to see in advance but thank you for letting me know. Could you possibly send me photos of previous work showing wood that is similar to the sample photo? Also, does the vanity come with any quality guarantee in case there is an issue or damage that wasn't noticed prior to handoff? Thanks so much and have a great day!

His Response:
By law, contractors must provide a free estimate. I have provided that, and included 2 free samples, along with the purchase of a custom made vanity.
My custom cabinets are made with highest quality lumber, and plywoods available on the local market. They are delivered in installation ready conditions, and free of any defects, to specifications you provide. I also use the best quality catalyzed lacquers available. Thats the extent of what i offer. You can pics on my yelp page.
I don't have any pictures of white washed cabinets. I haven't had a request for anything whitewashed in over twenty years. Maybe longer.
I think you should be looking for something you can put your hands on, purchase, and walk away with. Having something custom made may be too much of a risk for you.
Try home depot, or lowes. They have samples on the floor, from cabinet companies they work with. That might be a better fit for you.

Two years ago my neighbor had her kitchen remodeled by Tofoya Construction. She had been delighted by the experience and recommended this company highly. I used her recommendation and Mark made my kitchen beautiful.
I wasn't completely clear on what I wanted, but Mark was very helpful in my deciding.
For my situation, it was best to replace the cabinet doors and make new drawers(which are great). A finish was chosen that was compatible with the granite counter tops and the floor tile that were already installed.
Mark had some very helpful ideas such as combining some small drawers into one large one, putting a large drawer under the cooktop, and adding a box on the counter to accommodate bread boards. He also replaced a lazy susan, made a pantry more user friendly and added a cornice over window shades.
Recently, I was careless and marred the finish on a drawer. I dropped an email to Mark and had an immediate reply. It is all fixed now and I am very pleased
I am grateful to have found someone I could trust to do a great job making my kitchen a happy place to be!

I spent a great deal of time researching different companies to do my kitchen remodel. My kitchen was outdated and not functional. It was going to be a big project. I was extremely nervous considering this is a huge undertaking and l wanted to get it right. I decided to go with Mark / Tafoya Construction and couldn't be happier I made that choice. I liked Mark from the start. He listened to what I wanted to accomplish and provided me with a few suggestions that really captured the vision. My entire kitchen layout was changed, including opening up a wall from the kitchen to the dining area. He created the perfect custom cabinets and gave me all the counter space I dreamed of having. My kids LOVE the new kitchen bar we added. When kids get excited about a kitchen - you know the job is top notch! Almost at the last minute ... we had him add flooring in the dining area and he made it happen! I am so happy with my new kitchen and Mark's work. When we are ready for our bathroom remodel we will be going back to Tafoya Construction. I would highly recommend Mark/Tofoya Construction to anyone considering a remodel.

Mark Tafoya remodeled my kitchen and family room in 2017. In my family room he took an enormous fireplace of brick and transformed it into a beautiful area with 2 built in desks. I absolutely love what he did, I gave him ideas and he took what I asked for and gave me 100x better than anything I could have expected. My kitchen he took from an old outdated kitchen to a farmhouse kitchen with fully customized redone cabinetry, All that was left was the boxes and they were unrecognizable, you would never believe they were old cabinet boxes which saved us significant funds. Mark is detailed and very easy to work with. You cannot go wrong with Mark, he is amazing. I highly recommend talking to him about your remodeling projects.

Mark Tafoya renovated my kitchen about 15 years ago. The quality of his work was outstanding and he was a pleasure to work with. I especially love the oak cabinets he built and installed. The cabinets look like they were installed recently but were showing wear on some of the finger pull areas. Mark responded to my call the same day I called him. He repaired the finger pulls and you would never know that repair work was done. He takes pride in doing quality work and is a pleasure to work with.
