I called Fred to install an Earth Quake Shut off Valve for my client who was in escrow on a home. Fred gave me a quote based on the fact that he thought I had all the parts. I did not. Fred took the time to order the many parts needed. Fred got back to me very quickly. He communicated with me when the parts were in and he got the job done.

I did not truly understand everything that needed to be done for the project. Fred took the time to explain it to me. I really have to disagree with the other reviews that said Fred was arrogant. I did not find this at all. I actually found him calm and professional. He is also very kind. He did an excellent job.

Don't call Fred if you don't live in Thousand Oaks!! We live in Moorpark and called him to give us an estimate to do a small job and this was his response:

""I have been doing this for 17 years, I have a large following in the Thousand Oaks area. It adds 12 miles to come and go back and where do you think I would have to go to get materials? That's right, SIMI VALLEY. More miles and more time wasted.
To build you a new gate (if you lived in my area) I charge 450.00
To come to Moorpark I would have to charge 550.00/600.00 do you want to pay that much? I am not being hard to deal with, I have a lot of experience and I have learned what works best for me and my customers. I think you would do better finding someone more local to Moorpark.

Fred was Punctual and Professional. Even though my small project had a few hickups that I did not anticipate He was able to adjust and come up with a solution for me. He was reasonably priced and done in a timely manor. I will be using the T O Handyman again.

Fred is great! Absolutely no complaints and his work was fantastic. We had several items around the house which needed attention. Fred was extremely rude, arrogant and on top of it all late and unprofessional. Based on the other lower rated reviews I saw I'm sure he will call me a liar and then say I'm unreasonable.
Some feedback for Fred simply put if your going to be late just call the client, when you talk to clients on the phone don't talk to other people focus on the customer, and finally when someone calls you out on your behavior own it and simply apologize. We are all human and things come up but I'm not going to pay you money so you can talk down to me. I got right back on Yelp and had two handymen call me within an hour.

I am very pleased with the service and professionalism I experienced with Fred Sherman. He was able to come over to my house the next day after calling him, which was after a storm, and he was very busy. He fixed the fence in about two hours and the total cost was very reasonable and fair. My fence was taken down by a 20 foot limb of a city owned oak tree. The city was only able to remove the tree limb and not fix the fence. I am grateful that Fred was able to fix the fence without too much delay.
I am thinking of other jobs I will hire him for.

Had to replace a double oven when i bought my house, and the current cabinetry did not seem to fit. I was frustrated that oven wasnt going to fit and Lowes, where i purchased the oven, didnt know how to make it work However Fred had all the right equipment, came on time with his assistant, and got it to fit. He was also very thoughtful and protected the wood floors we had and cleaned up everything afterwards. Saved me a lot of headache! Highly recommend!
