I found my kitchen without power, and no sign of a tripped breaker, so I called my home warranty folks, and they assigned it to Swearingen. A couple of days later I found the *other* side of the kitchen without power - including the fridge!
Called them, and they sent someone out that morning. Turned out to be the GFCI's - first side had just been tripped; second side had burned out. Took her only about half an hour to fix things (and a good part of the time was spent removing the puppy and kitten from her tool case).

I just wanna say this company has a team of Rockstar's behind it! I called early on a Saturday morning because the night before I thought I had a blown breaker, turned out to be a much larger issue with a lot of problem solving and crawling around my attic chasing wires. Devon and his electrician Tiffany were amazing to work with on such short notice on a Saturday morning, and I truly appreciate their kindness and amazing customer service! Will absolutely recommend to anyone in need of a great electrician in the Chico area!

If you are a new hot tub owner in need of quality wiring, Swearingen Electric is your company.
After recently purchasing a hot tub, it was necessary to find an electrician to wire a 240v connection to the location. I am no good when it comes to electrical and felt my over-the-phone diagnoses were going nowhere with the other companies I had called for bids. Swearingen was the only of the companies to not only come out to give the estimate in-person, but also provide me with a timely quote.
The quote I was given was in my budget so I went forth and scheduled the service. I based my decision heavily off of this company's online reviews as multiple had mentioned hot tub wiring, which was what I was in need of. Devon's assistant came out bright and early on the scheduled date and installed the line in the course of a few hours. I was impressed at the precision and feel that the quality was on par with what I was hoping for.
Good electrician overall. I deducted one star as the final cost was 20% over what I was quoted - and it was due same day. Not the end of the world, but I did have to move money from my other accounts to accommodate the request (house-poor new homeowner here). Ultimately, all worked out. I can happily say that my hot tub works great. I'm glad I went with this company.

We had a mild electrical emergency on a Monday near the end of the day, that affected our ability to operate certain aspects of the business.
I went down the list of the electrical vendors we use, the primary vendor answered and tried to push us out to friday and the next two vendors didnt answer or even call us back (and still haven't).
I ended up giving Swearingen a call and Devon answered, he got a quick Idea of the issue we were having and sent a couple techs out right away.
I described the issue as best I could and showed them the area I believed would be the start point for the issue (we are in a very old, large warehouse)
They quickly got to trouble shooting the issue and found a fix for the immediate problem within 20 minutes or so and then spent the next couple hours working their way from one side of the warehouse to other to find the source of the issue.
Long story short, this building is very old and has had some less than adequate electrical work done over the years and they were relatively easily able to find a problem in the way it was wired, that should have never exsisted to begin with.
Great service and quick remedy.

Devon figured out where the short that caused the lights in four rooms not to work. It was a junction box sealed inside a wall.

This place is fantastic. The customer service is top notch. I had an order put in through my Home Warranty and Swearingen Electric contacted me immediately. Paul was the technician who came to our home, and he was a delight. He was kind, courteous, and efficient. It was obvious he had lots of experience, as he was able to figure out what the issue was and fix it! Thanks so much Swearingen! We will definitely be using your company for all of our electric needs!

Wasted my time then blew me off. Never heard from him again after he stopped by before our appointment time, then left immediately because my boyfriend was using the bathroom that needed work. Apparently waiting 5 minutes or less (would've been our actual appointment time) was too long bc he left for another project then never came back or responded to my messages after that. By far the worst service experience of my home warranty.

Devon is a nice guy and does good work, but he isn't reliable. I have a fair amount of work for him, he knows it, but yet he just doesn't call back or schedule the work into his schedule. In a few words: he has ignored us.
The way I see it my money is as green as the next guy. So, after waiting months, no exaggeration, I've had to move on to another electrician.
Now Devon has a poor Yelp review and one less customer. I don't get it. When the economy takes a nosedive and money is tight, I won't be calling Swearingen.
However, he will have to deal with me if we have an issue that is covered by my home warranty. You see, he is the only company that AHS has in the area. :-)

Our air conditioning unit wasn't getting cold so I requested service from my home warranty company. The wait was for several days and the temperature was rising to 97 the next few days. I called an independent air conditioning company to get a quote. If it was cheap enough, I was planning to eat the cost and get it repaired on my own. The technician came out and told me it wasn't the AC, it was electrical. So I submitted a different request to my home warranty company and they set up a work order with Swearingen Electric. It was an urgent matter therefore I called Swearingen immediately. The owner Devon was busy on a job but due to the extreme heat.... He would make time to inspect the AC within a few hours! Devon got dirty climbing into the attic and the crawl space. He quickly found the solution and we were up and running in jiffy. That's what I call service!!
