Found them on ServiceMagic in 2010. He did a whole house fan with product recommendations I found helpful, put in arbor lights with wiring and switches, fixed a couple of problem plugs and wirings, and gave me a couple of plugs and switches in attics and crawlspaces. He gave me a couple of additional minor items to add to the list that really made things like my attic light more useable and didn't add much to the bill. He came on time, knew what he was doing, had good recommendations for the work items, and left things neat when he was done. I had no worries about leaving him alone in the house. He goes in my book for my electrician of need.
Used again to update house from 100 AMP to 200, fix doorbell, put in lights in and outside garage. He patiently worked through the PG&E process and delays, did another professional job for a reasonable price. Explains why he's the electrician I call for anything.
Skip ahead to 2019. I have a new house and I had him replace 20 CFL cans with LED cans, put in 20 new LED cans, add 2 96"" LED fixtures to my garage, and give me a quad plug on a wall in the garage that didn't have one and is where I would like to put a workbench. As always he's on time, quick, meticulous, and cleans up completely.
I won't decide about solar til I've been in the new house for a year, but if I decide I'll use James. There's a bunch of reasons all his reviews are 5 star.

James really is as good as it gets. Contacted him to install a car charger, he mentioned he also did solar, which I was planning on doing anyway. Less than a month later solar install is done and working! (car charger meanwhile hasn't even shipped yet, thanks Tesla!)

When it comes to solar installation and knowledge, you need to pick an electrical contractor to do the job! James is your guy! He has years of experience and managed my installation from start to finish (other companies pass you off from sales to a project engineer that has no connection to you or your needs). James came out and correctly sized my installation to my goals, provided a bid and had the installation done in a week (including inspection) !

SV Electric should definately be considered for Solar installation.

James is a perfectionist - which is what you want when doing electrical work. He replaced our old panel when we first moved to our house 9 years ago and we have hired him for all electrical work since then. LED lights and new outlets for the garage, new electrical and breakers for our hot tub, and then last year - solar panels. He did such a great job and really stands behind his work. You can trust his opinion - he doesn't try to up-sell you - just tells you what is best for your situation. Can not recommend him enough.

James is fantastic! First time I ever used him and I can see why he is a 5-star! I will never call anyone other than SV Electric. He is meticulous, professional, personable, and very reasonably priced. I own 3 SFR rentals in Morgan Hill, and I have given all of my tenants his # to call, directly, because that's how much I trust James. In the past 4 years, I have dealt with 2 other electricians. I needed over 30 recessed CFL light fixtures replaced with LED fixtures. One electrician told me that there would probably be ceiling damage during the process and gave me a ridiculous estimate. I texted James a picture of the light fixtures and he told me what it would cost without going on-site, first. He did the job in a few hours. He covered everything. . .neatly replaced the recessed light fixtures, and vacuumed. . .he left absolutely no sign that any work had been done. Thank you, James. . .see ya' next time.
